Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) emerged victorious from House Republicans’ closed-door, secret ballot speakership nomination vote Wednesday, though there might be more drama to come.
Serious question: every single article I’ve read points to Jordan’s many awful features, but when discussing Scalise, all I’ve seen is a repetition of the fact that he once referred to himself as “David Duke without the baggage”. What other specifics can we point to about him? Legitimate question - surely the one quote is not the only terrible thing he’s ever done?
Great. So now a guy who’s described HIMSELF as “David Duke without the baggage” is soon to be second, SECOND in line for the presidency. Just fucking awesome. The system will kick in and protect us any day, right? Fuck me.
Grese had one pregnancy , father unknown, aborted by Giselle Perl, a Hungarian Jewish doctor who was imprisoned in Auschwitz. Perl declared after the war that Grese would watch along regularly when she examined women and that Grese became sexually aroused when she saw that these women were in pain.
Noting that this is a defeat for Donald Trump, so what’s next? Does Scalise even have a clue?
As of now the Putin/Trump caucus, by being able to make a motion to vacate the chair, has veto power over everything Scalise might do.
Unlike Jordan who is an idiot log, Scalise is a power hungry politician who will do or say anything for personal advancement and power. He knows on the one hand that the Putin caucus could destroy Republican chances in 2024 which he likely cares more about than anything else except his current position. In this he is much like McCarthy.
Scalise was also NOT Trump’s first choice. So does this mean like McConnell, Scalise will be independent of Trump and will that mean, like McConnell, Trump will be screeching vengeance at him?
Stay tune for the next episode of the “Deplorable Clown show”.
4 if Santos is gone, which is why Republicans will make sure he stays.
One other point from Santo’s point of view, he, even more than the other clowns, needs to keep the rule that anyone can motion to vacate the chair. Without that rule, while it might be harder, Republicans can govern without Santos.
