So, she’s a qualified professional, eh?

If getting shot didn’t make this dude any smarter about the necessity of gun safety legislation, then there’s no hope for him seeing the use of taking any position that threatens his place at the government teet.

Hey Scalise, every career professional is a holdover from past administrations. That’s the point of career professionals.

Dipshit.

Dude, you gonna give everyone who’s stepped up some sort of irrelevant moniker?

Leadership via grasping at straws.

Sorry Steve, she’s takes her oath seriously and is a consummate professional whoever is in political power, a trait unknown to far too many Repubs.

Remember when there were jobs in Washington that were not expressly political and one could be a careerist serving multiple administrations of both parties without having their good name dragged through the mud by partisan hacks? Good times…

Don’t these moron Trump-lovin’ Republicans in Congress realize that when they hand Trump an Imperial Presidency, they are all going to be OUT OF JOBS…

You know, there are lies and smears going on in the local elections right here, and it occurs to me that if you do it once and get away with it, then do it again, and again, it won’t be long before it’s a habit, done unthinkingly, just part of the game. So—shocking but not surprising. It’s new that they attack innocent foreign service careerists doing a difficult job, but lots of things are new these days.

She wasn’t elected to be the commander-in-chief to set our foreign policy — Donald Trump was.”

So how do you feel about the unelected Rudi Guiliani setting foreigh policy Steve?

On the one hand, the Thugs-R-Us defense of the indefensible is SNL parody and meme worthy but on the other hand, it is alarming that some of the legislators who legislates our law in accordance with USC are willing to debase and turn themselves into criminals like their Criminal Dear Leader!

Vote them all out!

Scalise is a horrible reprehensible human being. No empathy or compassion from this entity. They say the eyes are the window to the soul. His eyes are dead, dead, dead.

What a coincidence. That’s what Hannity called her too.

I feel so awful for these dedicated, experienced, apolitical professionals. We have as if tumbled down a rabbit hole, where ignorance is strength and competence is to be denigrated and attacked. These GOPers are straight up nihilists. I have no idea what they stand for other than blind obedience to the biggest a-hole and most transparent phony in US political history.

Every day is just another new day to destroy anything from yesterday for these types.
The rePukes went big time doing this Soviet-style black propaganda in 2000 with the Florida state judges during recount news cycle- no legal opinion is valid because the judge is a Democrat. Along the way they had to destroy some of the nations top law enforcement- James Mueller and the entire intelligence and FBI counter intelligence community. And now, they must destroy the professional ambassador cadre. This is a fanaticism (& don’t EVER FUCKING call it conservative).with a very fascist hew.

This shows how completely the entire Republican party has embraced an authoritarian vision of politics, and specifically a Putin-esque version. The rule of law is a naive fiction. Laws don’t rule, men rule. In the competition for power, the stronger man wins. So get on the winning side. Obama was weak, Trump is strong. The end.

Timothy Snyder lays this out in great detail in his two recent books, On Tyranny, and The Road to Unfreedom. Other scholars and independent writers have pointed out the same thing. I keep waiting for an enterprising mainstream media reporter to write a story on the fact–and it is a fact–that the Republican party has more or less completely remodeled itself after Putin’s ruling party in Russia. In a way, the entire Ukraine scandal is just one offshoot of that total makeover.

She’s a career diplomat, you jackass! That means she is non-partisan. Would you call a serving general an Obama holdover?
My father was an FSO, so I find it very gratifying that they are the professional ones with backbone in this sorry drama.

At least anyone with eyes to see, including the professional govt. employees, can tell that Dems never do this to them. I know that is small comfort, but I cannot foresee any dedicate govt. professionals claiming “they all do this” or “they are all just as bad”. No matter where they fit on the political spectrum…they know Dems never do this to them.

I hope when Dems have to clean out the non-professional hacks and govt. destroyers post-shitshow, that they all understand it has to be done.
