These ‘state’ committees are beyond the pale. They ‘censure’ people for telling the TRUTH, which they KNOW is the truth because of their deity TRUMP. I am sure there are OTHER things to do and perhaps ‘good’ members should all resign to show their disgust of petty revenge acts.

Well Ben - you are on board for Republican rotten 99.9% of the time. Why does it bother you NOW?

Oh right - it is directed at YOU.

But that said - you should be commended for breaking programming to do something decent and vote for accountability in the case of a president fomenting an attack on the U. S. Capital based on unending lying.

I appreciate the fact that Sasse is able to make a distinction between being a member of a political party that supports actual conservative views as opposed to being a member of a cult of personality dedicated to the worship of a corrupted, mendacious, authoritarian bully.

Too bad the former GOP is now the fascist GQP. Perhaps you should reconsider your political allegiance, Ben.

The anger has always been simply about me not bending the knee to one guy.”

And yet, this is the only gesture the current GOP cares about. He could have voted to allow non-aborted 1st graders to bring guns to school while singing Christian hymns and eating tax-free candy, but because he once said Trump was fat, he’s now the pariah.

Nice party ya got there, Benny.

We’re past the point where the reactionaries’ party should rip itself in two. While it would be the best way to hurry the Drumpfists off into obscurity, it would also mean a lot of office holders would soon become unemployed. It’s for that reason – that they don’t have the voters to support even one viable party between them – that they’re unlikely to divide.

There is no GOP. It is the Trump party of kooks. And the sane ones are being quickly expelled.

MTG’s only sin was revealing the Jewish lasers.

And that’s a damn shame. A split would mean diluting their pull in the E.C. and congressional representation / influence.

GOP in disarray! They eat their own. Their radicalization is destroying their party.

Between the Nebraska and South Carolina state GOP organizations, and the attempted revolt against Liz Cheney, it appears that the party has eagerly endorsed Cancel Culture.

It appears that like Kinzinger, Sasse is a man of conscience. Too bad both of them lack the empathy needed to be true leaders.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Seems to be a stupid plan by these republicans to stay in power. They’re unable or unwilling to cast blame on the real culprit here- Donald J. Trump. He’s the albatross around their scrawny, cowardly necks.

It’s the old story:

When YOU do it, it’s “Cancel Culture”. When WE do it, it’s “Defending Democracy”.

Rinse, Repeat.

If I could supply a sauce, or other flavorful ingredient, to hurry the process, I’m onboard with doing it.

Ben Sassy?

The future is shaping up kind of like this: Democrats pass bills, Republicans pick each other off, until all the bills that need to be passed are passed and all the Republicans that need to be picked off are picked off.

"The anger has always been simply about me not bending the knee to one guy.”

The problem in a nutshell… and kudos to Sasse for rattling the cage of the unprincipled twits whose free will and adherence to their oath has apparently been usurped by a psychotic serial liar…

Anyone think term limits for congress might me a good idea? Both parties of course, then we wouldn’t be stuck in same ole, same ole forever.

Well Ben it seems to be in the air with your party.

The two-page document also cites as reason for censure Sasse’s history of “questioning the president’s agenda, decisions, motives, and competency” in addition to having “show contempt” for the ex-president while also making “disparaging remarks towards the Trump family.”

This is a good reminder that conservative complaints about “cancel culture” is done in bad faith as they are happy to “cancel” Republicans who don’t follow the party line on Trump.
