Yeah, the “no taxpayer money” phrasing is very specific and intentional. Like when a politician is accusing of taking bribes and specifically says, “I did not take one dime.” Knowing full well that most people are morons who would hear “I didn’t take any bribes.” It’s just deceptive enough to fool the rubes with the added bonus of being true enough to protect him from a perjury charge.

This can only be characterized as a “limited hang out” response hoping that it would satisfy the search for information. It won’t work, Sarah is as corrupt as her dad Mike. Corruption and grifting runs in the family.

Alternately that the tickets were comped (i.e. gifted) or that her security wasn’t on-site. As has been noted already, there are numerous things that statement doesn’t cover to rule out misappropriation of public funds or running afoul of gift and bribery laws.
