Santos Sees The Writing On The Wall - TPM – Talking Points Memo

It’s not yet clear what Rep. George Santos (R-NY) will announce during his planned press conference on the Capitol steps on Nov. 30 — the spectrum of possibilities is vast and could range from denying he’s ever gotten Botox to announcing his resignation.

It’s not yet clear what Rep. George Santos (R-NY) will announce during his planned press conference on the Capitol steps on Nov. 30 — the spectrum of possibilities is vast and could range from denying he’s ever gotten Botox to announcing his resignation.

George will be announcing that he has chosen Donald Trump as his running mate in his upcoming bid for the Presidency.

(They did say the spectrum of possibilities is vast)

The calculated media moment is rare for the congressman who often makes headlines by simply walking the halls of the Capitol, sometimes toting an unidentified infant.

Apparently, the infant is 36-year-old Lauren Boebert’s newly arrived grandson. Santos would be well advised to keep the little bugger close by so he won’t start jumping any little girls brought to the Capitol. After all, sexual precocity seems to run in the Boebert clan, notwithstanding any pretensions to Christian morality.

George and Donnie agree not only on policy (that the government should serve them,) but also on methodology.
It’s given that neither will win in NY; so, with that impediment out of the way, I see no reason why they shouldn’t share a ticket.
And, if they win, George’s deportation will settle any lingering arguments over who should lead.

I suspect the new headline, come Nov 30, will be:

Poor George. He seems such a nice young man. And good looking too! Then again, I’m one of those folks who thinks Rudi Giuliani is a nice young man…and good looking too. Botox/Shoe polish: Really how great is the difference?

Has a nice ring to it.
It makes a good companion piece to, “I am your vengeance.”

Folks, the little people, of his District are not on his level of superior intellect and fail to understand how
his lose will lead them to a life of ruin.

I would venture to say that contempt for Santos pretty much runs nationwide. Good riddance George.

By all means, do let the Congressman serve out the term his ever-so-attentive constituents elected him to serve.

“…speculation that Santos will resign before his colleagues have a chance to weigh in, aware of just how disliked he is…”

In recent polls, Santos was even less popular than anal-fistulas, Zima, or Nickelback.

I would appreciate it if the reporters and/or editors would give us a parenthetic heads up if a featured link is behind a paywall (sub req?). Some publication give you a set few free articles a week which I try to conserve (e.g. The Atlantic) and I don’t like wasting them on articles that I thought less important than others. Also the constant clicking on a WaPo story and having to go figure out where I was is annoying. I know Josh does give a warning in his Backchannel and Ed Blog and I do appreciate that.
Other than that Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate.

He will announce he is running for President and immediately begin attacking the prosecutors, judge, and anyone else involved in bringing him to justice. Go for it George, Donald is blocking for you.

I don’t get the point of an “ethics” committee that can’t even bring itself to recommend expulsion for someone so ethically compromised. Seriously why bother?

Yes. Ethics in a political environment, in a committee of elected representatives, in the US House, in America 2023, can only be just ‘so’ ethical.

I’m sure it was close with Nickleback.

I’ve bookmarked https://archive.ph/
so I simply copy the URL of the paywalled site and paste it into the form and I have the article.

At what point does the ethical committee become unethical for failing to practice ethics?
