Sanders: ‘Not A Good Night’ | Talking Points Memo

“Yeah, I guess you might have more voters, but I can yell louder and longer! :point_left: :point_up_2: :point_right:

Sad.

More of a spiral, as Bernie augurs himself into political oblivion…

Can Joe skip the debate Sunday?

And been a real azimuth doing it.

Never send to know for whom the cloud yells; it yells for thee.

With his ongoing hate campaign against the Democratic Party, BS seems to be veering toward a third-party movement. Bernsters should ask themselves if this is the right time for that.

Successful parasites instinctively know not to kill their host. If BS had a lick of political savvy, he would not try to tear down the Democrats if he wants to live to fight another day.

It’s the trump, stupid.

BS could have chosen not to run this cycle, he could have dropped out with dignity after his heart attack last fall, but his ego won’t allow that because he believes that his platform is wholly his ideas.

Like another Queens-born narcissist, he has co-opted the works and ideas of many others before him and now believes he himself invented the wheel.

What I will never understand is why young people are attracted to cranky old grandpa.

I’ve posted this before, but the debate stage should be sodded, so that Bernie can stand in his bathrobe and slippers, and yell at the kids to “get on my lawn”!

Nah, he’ll be accused of ducking Sanders.

Do the debate, watch out for any stupid questions and wait for St. Patrick’s Day.

No, but he needs to come ready to have a discussion with Bernie about how he is really middle of the road and his ideas are better for the country, but he has a plan to address the issue of income inequality and the lack of opportunities for youth

And he needs to come ready to go off on Bernie if Bernie accuses him of being a corporate shill or friends with billionaires or crooked. Just Nuke Bernie, point out that his Trotskyite effort to divide Americans are beyond contempt.

Part of the reality is that Bernie’s youth vote numbers aren’t slipping a lot but more over 30s are voting in D primaries because we realize the most important thing is having a candidate who will beat tRump. Having November voters who will travel down ticket also factors in.

Making impossible promises to low-information potential voters is a tried and true populist formula. Fortunately our party has shown itself more resistant to co-opting than the GOP in 2016.

edit: also, there was a bird!!!

How about just saying that there is nothing left to discuss between them? It’s time to part nicely and get about their respective business?

I wish I was wrong about how much of a narcissist and how big his ego is, but he keeps proving me correct.

Stupid old man who never grew up.

My brother (who is a street dude) has him beat by a mile.

  • He knows where he is

  • He would never needlessly hurt people

  • His ego is under control

  • People are people to him, not objects to fit into an ideology

  • He knows when the ends justify the means

Post is WRONG or just unclear in their analysis. A lot of sloppy reporting. The PERCENTAGE of voters who were under 30 was down. But that was because turn out was up much more in older groups. Numbers don’t lie:

MI. 2016 1,280,718 votes, 19% were under 30, or 224K “youth” votes.

2020 (so far, numbers will go up) 1,585,410 votes, 16% were under 30, or 253K “youth” votes

In nearly all primaries I have looked at more youth voted in total numbers, but their share is lower as the democrats are getting far more older voters to show up than in 2016.

By the way, my Secret Billionaire Establishment Wristwatch says we have only eight more minutes before the usual suspects show up to yell about dementia and we won’t win South Carolina anyway and the crime bill and bankruptcy and the Iraq, so get your substantive points in while you can.

I agree. Keep the focus on how you’re going to beat Trump like a rented mule, Joe. If Bernie persists in asking questions on all his idealistic / unrealistic goals, just reinforce that nothing good will happen if we don’t bounce Trump.
