Not much self-reflection or acknowledgment of reality in that meager statement.

Bernie, it’s time for you to be a contrast to DJT, i.e. putting the national interest ahead of personal interest. You can still impact the direction of the country, but it is time to stand down.

There’s nothing to assess – he’s done. He’s a Dead Man Walking. The ONLY question is whether he can bow out immediately and graciously, or whether he wants to continue to be a total horse’s ass. Hoping for the former; smart money is on the latter.

But just imagine how much further to the left he can drag the conversation! Wonder if he will enthusiastically support Biden and urge his supporters to do the same when all is said and done. He was so gracious with Clinton last time around…

I have enormous respect for Sanders but bullheadedness is his long suit.

Let’s just say, I’m not holding my breath on Bernie doing the right thing anytime soon.

“Over it is.”

Bernie needs to just drop it. Then there’s no incentive for further primary shenanigans like delays and such due to covid.

The writing’s on the wall anyways, time to get together to defeat Trump.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

Where’s Mr. Blutarski when bernie needs him most?

Bernie (full disclosure, I supported him in 2016 but not in 2020) should realize that although he has lost his ideas have essentially won. Although it is in the context of an existential crisis, even the GOP (gasp) is talking about enacting measures that only a few months ago were considered too far left for even the Democrats. What is enacted as temporary measures, such as universal basic income (thanks, Andrew Yang), will become permanent once Americans get used to them. And universal health care, in some form, will arrive here very soon, although perhaps not as Medicare for All.

Now is the time to show leadership.
Real Leaders often must do things unpopular with their supporters.

Hero or Goat? What’s it gonna be Bernie?

P.S. no disrespect to those fine animals in the pix often posted here to cheer us up. It’s an old phrase. Bernie is an old goat by nature; I’m not sure he has any hero genes, but we’ll see.

Could THIS dent his thick skull? (a post of mine from another thread)
This is, literally, a matter of life and death

["Rachel last night (with Brain Williams agreeing) stated that Bernie staying in drags out the Primary Season (in a PANDEMIC ) and Puts Lives at Risk.

THAT’S Major stuff."]

Here’s an assessment:

Of 27 primaries held so far,he won 7. Of the 23 remaining state primaries, only 8 are states with 10+ Electoral College votes and Bernie only won two of those in 2016… Wisconsin and Indiana. The other 6 are NY,PA,OH,GA,NJ and MD. There is also the DC and Puerto Rico primaries. Rhode Island was the only “Chesapeake primary” he won in 2016.
