It’s going to take a while, but stupidity like this is only going to accelerate the marginalization of fundamentalism. Church attendance and self-identification as “Christian” has been declining for several decades. This kind of religious crap is the result of that decline. They are losing and they know it, so they become more and more extreme. At some point they will be swept from the table.

Chuck Grassley has been pedaling the Russian disinformation for a long time now. When did Chuck know that it was Russian disinformation? I recall Chuck saying something like the truth or falsehood of that disinformation is not the point.

There isn’t one article about this story in either NYTs or Washington Post. The latter did have a very prominent story about Trump’s planned mass deportations and work camps, however.
