The Prime story about the unnamed White House official who told CNN they didn’t use any public health measures during Trump’s speech “because everyone is going to get it anyway,” and Matt’s conclusion that the White House has shifted to a “herd immunity” strategy, just provides further proof for Russo’s thesis: the goal is extending the chaos and fear indefinitely. Navarro, Meadows, and Mnuchin will rule the world from the safety of their rural dachas.

Why does it take liberals pages and pages to provide a one sentence conclusion. That conclusion is:
The result of the 2016 election was to make Vladimir Putin the most powerful man in America.

I recall from congressional IC hearings in the 2016-17 period, one of the big wigs (Clapper?) being asked what the Russians wanted from their interference and he responded, “To sow chaos.”
He called it and the Russians have got it.

Expanding a little on the “sowing chaos” theme, it seems to me that all these Trumpites telling us to expect rioting in the streets if Biden wins are right, but they are right for the wrong reasons.
They seem to imply that the chaos and rioting will come from the browns, blacks, and libruls, but I think what they are actually saying is that THEIR people will go nuts and refuse to accept a Biden win.
And that the Orange Menace will be fanning the flames every chance he gets. THAT’s where the rioting will come from.
Which way will the police go in that scenario?

We all know that the entire Trump family is highly uneducated and ignorant in many ways, and one of the proofs of that is that in their desire to turn the country into a monarchy they seem unaware of the fate of the Romanov family…

The Republican brand, now tarred by this chaos, will be the subject of intense scrutiny if they lose the White House and the Senate. The climb back will not be easy. And this time, they won’t have Steve Bannon to guide them to another victory.
Wrong.
Even now Robert and Rebekah Mercer are grooming the next Bannon to guide the Republicans to victory in the 2022 elections.

Quite true. Maybe then, there would be a more aggressive spirit in our discourse. The negativity on this site (and others with highly educated people) is astounding. There are some who do the best they can…but just about 90+% of our conversation should be dealing with removing Trump from Office.
Doing our damnedest to make those who would have a hand in removing Trump from office as despairing as humanly possible does us no good,and, in fact, I am happy that people like LeBron James have not given up.

I think a few posters are a bit harsh on those that express their dismay and discouragement about the country getting better. I feel that many of us are in despair - and continue to fight on anyway.
Starting a war in order to become a wartime president is a tradition. Think Reagan, Bush, Cheney. Support the troops against the common enemy, Patriotism! Somebody tell Trump it isn’t supposed to be a civil war.
