If it’s OK to put undocumented migrants in concentration camps for violating immigration law, surely an analogous punishment would be warranted for an official who uses his office to break the law by unilaterally overturning the will of of Congress.

I think Russ Vought has been playing a waiting game. I am pretty sure he wants to make all scientific funding a political slush fund for the GOP. However, cuts (not really cuts, but money shunted elsewhere) always lead to outcry. So after a certain segment is “cut “, the outcries ensue and he then needs to wait to make the next “cut”.
History is full of people like Russ Vought, and @darrtown above describes him correctly; Russ finds it impossible to understand and much less care as to facts as found by scientific processes.
