Rudy Giuliani declared bankruptcy on Thursday, six days after a $148 million defamation judgment was awarded against him.
ETA: He was already morally bankrupt.
Will Chapter 11 give him any protection? The judge in the Sandy Hook case denied it for Alex Jones.
I would not recommend being a Trump attorney. First, you don’t get paid, go to jail (Cohen) or declare bankruptcy (Rudy).
Nope, not a stitch… Doesn’t apply for intentional torts.
Merry Christmas, one and all!
His finances finally caught up with his morals.
Noun, verb Chapter 11. Looks like Ruby and Shay might assume ownership of his upper east side condominium.
I see tar. Where are the feathers?
Since he long ago sold his soul, that asset is not available.
Generally, judgment debts for willful and malicious injury are excepted from sec. 523 discharge. So, this won’t get him where he wishes he could be.
Trump disqualification. Rudy bankruptcy. Santa is being very generous this year.
What a time to be a forensic accountant with Trump and his phonies running around (but not for too much longer - patience, the clock is ticking ever so quietly, but in the proper direction). The payback would be priceless…
Chapter 11? Delusions of grandeur. Chapter 11 is for REORGANIZATIONS, like for businesses with a plan to consolidate and pull out of a slump. Rudy, as we all can see, lacks any rational plan.
To get a Chapter 11 plan approved, you have to generate SUBSTANTIAL REGULAR INCOME to make regular & timely payments to creditors under your plan. There’s no sign of that, here.
Rudy’s bankruptcy filing will soon be converted involuntarily to a LIQUIDATION, like that of any consumer who can’t make good decisions about his/her finances.
Think WHOOOSH [Loud flushing sound]!
Dear Rudy - shutting the fuck up doesn’t cost a thing.
Not against his secured creditors or his defamation/IIIED judgment, which is non-dischargeable because it is for an intentional tort. Still, the occasion of laying all his assets on the table might prompt Ruby and Shae to cut a deal.
Now, will Rudy find himself capable of avoiding bankruptcy fraud? I think that remains to be seen.
I figure Guiliani saw this coming and got paid for his work in Ukraine from off-shore third parties, such as Oleg Deripaska, to avoid taxes and seizure. His lawsuit against Trump is just cover.
Brilliant!
