Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) put out a statement going after Sen. Krysten Sinema (D-AZ) after the senator announced Friday that she’d left the Democratic party to become an independent.
Kyrsten Sinema is the Tulsi Gabbard of Joe Liebermans.
I would happily vote for Gallego; but he is going to have to become far better known across Arizona to have a chance at becoming Senator. Dems will have to begin now messaging his credibility; and he will have to become a far more familiar face in every county to make a successful run.
It might be that the Rs retake the Senate in 24, but if they do, I doubt Kyrsten Sinema will be the deciding candidate. In that case, let the Republican win. Fuck Sinema.
If she is the 50th or the 51st non-Republican, well I can live with her, since I don’t and never will live in Arizona.
I got a text message from his campaign this morning with the same message identified above. He’s working on fundraising, which is what it will take to raise his profile.
When Hobbs is sworn in as Arizona governor, President Biden should offer Sinema the ambassadorship of her choice. Hobbs can appoint Ruben Gallego.
By becoming an independent, she ensures that she won’t get knocked out of a Democratic primary.
