What would the implications of a Menendez resignation be?

50D-49R and an interim appointment by a Dem governor.

Truly a subterranean basement dweller in the value-over-replacement metric.

Very ready for his “find out” phase to begin.

His stupidity alone warrants a felony conviction.

If only DJT were running for NJ Senate, we could hear him rail about the base corruption of “Bob Menendacious”. Sad!

I think by current math, this one indictment ought to provide “whatabout” fodder for a couple hundred GOP crimes. That said, dude ought to resign forthwith.

Looks like this man should be a Republican: He does not learn from past mistakes, he cannot seem to stay on the straight and narrow, and he appears to be a greedy pig. Hell…it’s New Jersey, but this is not the 1950s. He needs to go

they allegedly bribed Menendez so that he would take official acts for their benefit.

ties the Koch brothers’ decades long effort to overturn the 1980s Chevron case to Thomas’ own change of heart on whether that case remains good precedent.

Well, thank god our Founding Fathers had the foresight to exempt the Supreme Court from sticky things like bribes in exchange for decisions.

Jon Stewart needs to run for this seat!! He would be a GREAT Senator! His work for 9/11 families alone shows that!

Yeah, I think he’ll hang on to see if he can beat this one at trial too. It’s a bizarre sociopathy that takes over an electorate who keep returning known criminals to office, but the cult of personality on a local scale shows up across the country.

Come on, people. How many times must Menendez be indicted for bribery (whether convicted or not) before the voters of New Jersey begin to think that possibly he is corrupt, and should be voted out? I don’t care that he is a Democrat, this guy is why the vast majority of Americans see our government as a giant shell game run by major grifters.

Ideas for a strong candidate? Cory Booker is already in the Senate.

My Representative, Mikie Sherrill, would make the best Senator, but a non-House member placeholder might be more strategic at this time due to the current House balance.

Devastating evidence in Menendez indictment.

"Over $480,000 in cash—much of it stuffed into envelopes and hidden in clothing, closets, and a safe—was discovered in the home ... Some of the envelopes contained the fingerprints and/or DNA of" co-defendant making alleged bribes. pic.twitter.com/IMmXkzF4cO

Makes me wonder what they’d find in Uncle Thomas’s closet.
