Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) took a swing at Joe Biden on Wednesday, releasing a report that he has repeatedly vaunted as being catastrophically damaging for the former Vice President’s electoral hopes.
Not sure how this ruins Joe Biden’s campaign for POTUS. A rehash of accusations against Hunter Biden is not some block buster scandal. Last I looked, Hunter Biden is not running for President.
The comments on the Washington Post’s article about the report are universally dripping in contempt for Ron Johnson and full of disgust for the ‘Russian tools’ in the GOP.
(I don’t know if it’s because I’ve blocked the worst of the trolls on WaPo, but I’ve seen very few posts lately on WaPo comment boards in defense of trump or the GOP, or insulting Democrats. Considering we’re so close to the election, it’s a bit surprising.)
Apart from restating the debunked allegations, Johnson also appears to have received documents from the U.S. Treasury that point to financial transactions involving Hunter Biden.
Trump and Mnuchin know that unless they are provided gratis by Putin himself, they lack that special “smelly old men trafficking women to each other” edge that makes authoritarianism worthwhile!
I don’t know why any Republican senator would start throwing stones about that. All republican Senators are guilty of buying or performing prostitution services. They cannot drop their pants fast enough when Trump is coming their way.
This could actually backfire spectacularly- the first debate is coming up and Biden will be angry about the GOP’s attempt to slime his son. And I expect bully trump to go off-topic to try and use the report to slam Biden in the debate.
Biden is at his best when he’s steely-eyed angry - and this report, in the end, could hurt trump much more than it does Biden.
What happens if Bill Barr indicts Joe Biden or otherwise charges Biden with a crime?
I mean that is obviously where this is going, and the question is what legal implications does it have, indicting or otherwise charging a nominee with a crime?
That is beyond attempts to influence votes, is this a pretext to invalidating the election results be they a Biden victory?
