I have heard this from other Republicans, “ya, we messed it all up but Democrats are to blame for not fixing it”.
But to Romney’s point specifically, Paul Krugman called on Democrats to do exactly this, pass a debt ceiling bill in a lame duck session after the election. The problem is there were indications that at least one of the usual suspects, Manchin or Sinema, would not have agreed and at the time, losing one would have killed the effort as all Republicans including Romney would have opposed the bill.

Gillum should take on DeSantis. I suggest a heavy reliance on Disney.

It is hard to remember that anything in the Senate – other than a budget reconciliation or a confirmation – requires 60 votes. Surprising Romney doesn’t remember, though.

Florida legislature now wanting to allow trans kids taken from their families?!
My brother sent me a YouTube video in which a republican legislator in Florida claimed that the entire party is homophobic.

PAB Romney doesn’t want to do what’s right because it might offend some MAGAS.
There’s also the Montana rep who said she’d rather have her trans daughter commit suicide than allow her to transition.

I think of all the parents who kicked their kids out of the house because they were gay. It never ended well for the kids, and I couldn’t believe that any parent would do that.
Here we go again. The Christian Right has reared its ugly head again. Hateful, bigoted, ignorant.
