A vote for Barrett is voting for Trump.
What say you Romney?
It’s important to note that most of this “Republican revolt” against Trump is coming from people who already said something about him along the way…Romney has mostly gone along, but Hogan and Baker have separated themselves from the Republican crazy show multiple times in the past four years. So, it’s not really news that they are not voting for him and criticizing him now. What is news is the very mild criticism we are hearing from someone like Cornyn…as weak as it was it was a claim of independence.
It’s also news that very few Republicans have taken that step away from Trump to this point, despite the complete meltdown and appearance that he’s going to lose and take the Senate with him. They still are riding along, quietly acquiescing to the bad behavior, and while a few are setting themselves up now for the eventual pivot away from him most are holding back on the off chance that he wins. Basically, they have no moral stance left, it’s a bunch of cowards hoping that Trump can drag them across the finish line so they keep power a little longer…it’s an indication of how bankrupt the Republican party is, and that it really needs to die or be reinvented if it’s going to be relevant going forward.
They have damaged the nation enough that the consequences will be felt for years or decades, but it really may just be that Trump will manage to kill the Republican party as a national power, at least for a little while. Good thing too, because it has become so corrupt that America can’t take much more of it.
When asked who earned his vote, the Utah Republican senator told CNN “that’s something I’m keeping private at this stage.”
Spoiler Alert: He wrote in Mitt Romney
““I think our party is in trouble with young people, increasingly with older people, with minorities,” Romney told CNN. “And those young people we were in trouble with five years ago are now voting, and so we’ve got some real work to do.””
Call me fucking crazy, but here’s some very simple advice: STOP TRYING TO FUCK EVERYONE OVER TO MAINTAIN WHITE CHRISTIAN DOMINION OVER THE COUNTRY’S GOVERNANCE AND CULTURE AND ENRICH JUST A FRACTION OF 1% OF THE FUCKING POPULATION AND MAYBE YOU WOULDN’T HAVE THIS FUCKING PROBLEM!!!
Only a vote for Biden is a vote against Trump. Writing in “Reagan” or not filling in a bubble doesn’t cancel out a Trump vote and is thereby useless.
Also, I would like to suggest that we refrain from talking about a Trump/GOP loss as a foregone conclusion. A lot can happen in the next two weeks and polls don’t always align with reality. Let’s assume that Biden and the Dems are behind and fight like we have our backs to the wall.
VERY OT: But had to share the thrill I am experiencing watching Forever Pres. Obama who is on MSNBC right now at a rally for Biden in Philly.
Be still my heart!
Romney wrote in Grover Cleveland…
I’m listening too, but no link to the speech here at TPM.
Curiouser and curiouser.
Another Republicon profile in courage. Whatever.
MSNBC also showed a talk/gathering he had earlier with African-American community leaders in Philly and it was SO good.
Complete sentences…sincerity…humor…warmth.
Oy
“And those young people we were in trouble with five years ago are now voting, and so we’ve got some real work to do.”
Really, don’t bother. Please. The country would be far better served by your party just slinking off into the wilderness to die.
Obama: “I get that this president wants all the credit for the economy he inherited and zero blame for the pandemic he ignored, but that’s not how the job works”
“I did not vote for President Trump,” Romney told CNN on Capitol Hill on Wednesday.
Welcome back 2016

And by a strange coincidence, neither did I.
Drop box right uptown at the library. Pickup at 7 and off to the county building.

Going to be a drop box a block away from me at my polling station, which opens for early voting Saturday. Onward and upward!
I’m just going to add something local here. My Congresswoman Ann Wagner finally showed up and debated her Democratic challenger State Senator Jill Schupp. They were playing some highlights from the debate which was conducted virtually which is why Ann running for a 5th term probably agreed to debate Jill.
When the moderator aske Ann something about Trump she replied, “I’m not like Trump, in tone, in tenor, nor in tweets”. As if that fucking maters, she votes 94.3% of the time with Trump’s position.
