Prison was made for someone like Roger Stone. Lots of time to dress flamboyantly, eat expensive meals, drink fine wine, smoke expensive cigars, hang with the boys. Nixon Tats are really popular in the slammer.
And I have no doubt that Trump will be advised that pardoning Stone will simply make it worse for himself, cost him support in the Senate, and we will learn that Trump “hardly knew the guy”.
And I suggest that Florence Colorado is a good place for Mr. Stone.
p.s. and I would note that the 7 counts Stone was found guilty on are exactly what Trump is guilty of: perjury and witness intimidation, obstruction of justice…
P.s.s. Just saw this quote in the Post’s piece on Stone:
"Stone himself explained his philosophy in a clip from his House testimony played for jurors. Quoting the writer Gore Vidal, he said, “Never pass up an opportunity to have sex or appear on television.”
In prison, the second one is gonna be impossible moving forward, and I don’t think he is gonna like the first.
