In addition to the six Oscars and iconic film status Francis Ford Coppola’s masterpiece The Godfather Part II achieved, the movie can now add to its long list of accolades being the source of a fiery dispute in the criminal case against former Trump associate Roger Stone.
Epstein’s suicide reminded me of the conversation between Pentangeli and Tom Hagen in prison, in which they discussed how, in ancient Rome, a guy could save the honor of his family by committing suicide.
Much as I want to see Stone go down, I think playing the clip to the jury would be prejudicial. I predict the judge permits a transcript of the movie dialogue (including the Tom Hagen/Pentageli prison yard conversation), but no video. The video is just too powerful.
