Robin Roberts announced Monday morning that she has been diagnosed with a the blood and bone marrow disease and is beginning treatment, which consists of “chemotherapy in advance of a bone marrow transplant later this year.” The “Good Morning America” anchor, who has MDS or myelodysplastic syndrome, once known as preleukemia, says her prognosis is good. “My doctors tell me I’m going to beat this — and I know it’s true,” Roberts writes in the announcement.
