Biden probably shouldn’t have been so direct on that. He set himself up for this and they’re not going to let go and that’s not terrific. Coverage of the virus has slowed down and your basic voters are getting lulled into thinking things are better because of the quiet and they don’t look at the idea of a shutdown the way alert people do. They fear the idea of a shutdown and we all know about shooting the messenger.
Biden’s going to have to walk this back a bit. He will, and your basic voters will forget, they don’t ever remember much, but right now the Republicans are scoring a few points.

Biden should have made his statement in reverse. He should have put science first and then said the word shutdown. He did the opposite. He led with the wrong card.

I have to strongly, strongly disagree. Dems have played that game and have always lost. Pandering is not their friend. Save that for Repubs, who lie by nature. Dems have to be honest and direct and people will respect them for it. Also, you DO NOT downplay something like this.

I think that he should stick to it.
Though virus coverage is going down, the death count is getting higher and it’s still averaging 1k, as it relates to the daily count.
What should be mentioned is that Cuomo ‘alpha maled’ Trump, when the latter wanted to quarantine the NY tri state area.
Also, Birx is for it and if Trump gets over in '21, he’ll definitely go for a new shutdown.
Considering that we’ll be looking at over 200k deaths, before election day.
