Right-wing darling Kyle Rittenhouse, who was acquitted on all charges last month after fatally shooting two people at a Black Lives Matter protest, was a special guest at conservative group Turning Point USA’s conference in Phoenix Monday night.
I am expecting to see some laws lowering the age requirements for office in the US. Strike while the iron is hot, because by the time Rittenhouse is old enough his time will have been expired.
Lowering the ages for office at the federal level would require a Constitutional amendment.
Article 1 section 2 for Reps shows 25 yrs. Section 3 shows 35 yrs for senators
It’s disgusting but not unexpected that the goobers would embrace a murderer.

Much has been published since 1/6 detailing the kinship many of the Capitol Police felt with the rioters invading the building and its grounds. NatGuard, U.S. military, police, sheriffs and private security companies are often the enemy within.

In other news, I feel awful for Fanone. The whole CPD turned their backs on him after how many years? That whole thing should be cleaned out like a backed up sewer.
I do too, but I wonder what his views would be if the hillbillies hadn’t almost killed him.

This is why I keep hoping the departments enforce their vaccination requirements. Fire anyone not complying. That will be a good first step to cleaning them out.
They did say in the article that a lot of folks have left the force. They are probably of like mind with Fanone. The ones that are left are the problems and my gut tells me the Capitol isn’t safe with this bunch that remains.

It would a shame if Kyle Rittenhoused the CPAC crowd. Apparently the CPAC crowd doesn’t mind … I know I feel threatened by CPAC. Justified.
ETA, not really. That in basic terms would be bad in many ways. Politically, would CPAC ever, in an honest way, try to keep it from happening again?
It’s no wonder they thought they could put one guy on duty outside the Capitol that morning.

I bet a lot of these people who love a killer profess to be Christians.

I just hope the jury members are all watching this and remembering his crocodile tears on the stand.
Would have been one thing if he had slunk off into obscurity, would have demonstrated at least some humanity and remorse.

At 18 or 19 one is not really mature yet. Remorse will intrude I think in this kid’s case as he ages… Certainly he went looking for trouble and testimony shows that.
Of course Manchin cut out the Child Tax Credit since it is a real game changer for children and a measure that takes a wack at inequality.
