Right Wingers Furious That The FBI Killed A Man Threatening Biden. Trump’s Truth Social Tipped Agency Off

Truth Social, the social media company owned by Donald Trump, tipped off the FBI to threats Craig Robertson was making against Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg back in March, NBC News reported, citing a senior law enforcement official. FBI agents shot and killed Robertson Wednesday while they were serving a warrant at his home in Provo, Utah.

“Stop the Steal” organizer Ali Alexander wrote on Telegram that: “The FBI is now killing online critics of Biden"

So threatening to kill the president is being an “online critic” so long as the president is a Democrat?

What about Robertson’s alleged “blind son”? Does this guy exist? Has he been questioned, or even interviewed?

It’s telling that trumptwitter blew the whistle. What’s with that?

That is one conflicted wee dude. Basement full of assorted backpacks I’ll wager.

I do wonder how often FBI agents are forced into a situation where they have to shoot a suspect when attempting to serve a warrant. The way the right-wing is telling it, they are a hit squad going around taking out dissenters, but it doesn’t seem likely to be a huge number of people related to political beliefs. And of course, they are only going to start shooting if the individual is actually threatening.

I don’t think it was the FBI, but it was a similar situation (and similar right-wing dustup) with Mr. Finicum with the Malheur Wildlife Refuge take-over. When the state troopers(?) stopped their vehicle, they demanded Finicum put his hands up several times before finally shooting him when he made a motion to reach into his coat instead.

If Robertson had complied with the warrant, he wouldn’t have been shot. Robertson and Finicum chose to get shot because of their delusional beliefs about the various government agents arrayed “against” them.

You know, like Robinson I am a 75 year old white male and I own firearms. If the FBI ever showed up to my house I would open the door and comply fully with all their demands. I wouldn’t under any circumstances show up at the door with a gun. That isn’t very Teddy Bear like.

Just because you are an old man you don’t have the right to threaten anyone with a weapon, no matter what some crazy lady on Fox News might tell you.

These people take the cake. It’s okay to shoot unarmed people of color who are running away from police because “they didn’t comply.” But an armed white man, making threats and pointing a loaded weapon at officers, is a bridge too far? The hypocrisy is astounding.

I live in Utah and some witnesses even said he shot the gun at the FBI. But for some of the RWNJs, the FBI should have just waited him out because he was “a teddy bear.” He was only a teddy bear to the people he identified with. He thought everyone else should be “exterminated.” I won’t be sparing any thoughts for this jerk.

IIRC, threatening to kill a number of Democratic elected officials, including the President; threatening to kill the FBI agents who came to interview him if they came back; posting a detailed threat against Biden and, now point a presumably loaded gun at federal agents serving a warrant.
Seems this guy put a lot of effort into becoming the online critic ‘assassinated’ by the Biden DoJ.

Sounds like another Ashli Babbitt.

For Robertson, it makes me wonder if there wasn’t a death wish at play, as in a really elaborate suicide by cop.

Maybe I’m not remembering things correctly (I was only 14 at the time), but I don’t recall right-wingers going on TV to complain about how unfair the government was being to Timothy McVeigh. It’s almost like violence and threats of violence weren’t always considered to be legitimate forms of political expression for the GOP… And if they’re totally cool with defending this guy, what will they do with the next guy who maybe doesn’t fall on the FBI’s radar before he has the chance to take action? It’s scary shit.

I’m sure those meddling kids walked on his lawn before he met his maker.

Robertson had 3 children, but divorced in 1986, so the kids would be at least 37+ years old at this point. Unknown whether one was blind (relevance, NYPost?) but he lived alone, not currently “caring” for blind son.

But he sure was a nice guy:

The GOP hadn’t fully embraced violence yet in 1995 (although they were far too quick to cast blame on the federal government after the Ruby Ridge and Waco incidents).

They have now fully transformed into the Timothy McVeigh Party… and should be referred to in this way.
