Originally published at: Riggs Will ‘Promptly’ Appeal Ruling That Helps GOP Opponent In His Effort To Steal The Election
In a 2-1 decision Friday, a North Carolina Court of Appeals sided with Republican state Supreme Court candidate and Appeals Court Judge Jefferson Griffin in an ongoing legal battle over the results of the state’s Supreme Court race, ruling that thousands of ballots in the November 2024 race may have been counted illegally. The appeals…
By any means necessary, eh fascists?
Why not? It worked for the Orange felon.
Investigative reporter Greg Palast claims that Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris would have defeated Donald Trump by 1.2 million votes in 2024, if not for widespread voter suppression tactics. According to Palast, the…purging of Black voters from the rolls and the rejection of ballots, ultimately cost Harris the election.
These leftover TeaParty bozos who have an iron grip on the NC Legislature, and think that gives them dictatorial power over the State are not even embarrassed that they are doing this.
What does disenfranchising that many voters do to other elections? I have not heard anyone asking that question.
Republicans really are shameless shits.
Republicans really are shameless shits.
But that is their superpower, having no shame. Especially when compared to Democrats who are shamed over the smallest issue like emails.
Gee, why would the GOP need to steal lots of elections?
I hope that the NC Democrats have taken the time between the election and now to get some of those ballots corrected and didn’t just rely on the courts to protect those votes.
The only way republicans can win an election is to steal it or by illegally suppressing voters. Dishonest losers.
I don’t doubt it.
It decreases the numbers of voters to a size suitable for drowning in a bathtub, dontcha know.
Is the use of force justifiable when illegal actions are taken by a tyrannical majority in the suppression of the legitimate will of the people?
Just askin’… cause, ya know, democracy… or even just a representative republic…
Can someone explain how the elections board is still able to connect votes with voters at this late date? Ballots are supposed to be secret but if they can “pull out” ballots from voters who don’t correct their ballot in the 15 days, then somehow they know which ballots belong with which voters which seems like a privacy risk to me.
"… To recap, the votes Jefferson Griffin is challenging were all legally cast votes. But he is trying to claim that the voters didn’t have complete registrations, because their registrations did not have a driver’s license number or the four digits of Social Security numbers on them. HOWEVER, these numbers were not required before 2004, and also voters in North Carolina already must show ID to vote, and are still legally entitled to vote without those numbers on their registrations if they show valid ID at the polls. …".
So it seems that challenged voters are being forced by this one loser’s personal demand to request that clerks add information not required by NC law back in the day when they registered. You’d think the NC lege might make a retroactive requirement law or something, but they haven’t. He’s abridging their right to vote, imo. This is Griffin’s audition to be a judge. yeesh.
So, if these ballots are thrown out for this one race, they’re obviously not valid for any of the races. Of course, Republicans don’t care about that so, they’re not changing the results of any other races with this ruling.
How do they know whose ballot is whose?
Usually, the markers are on an envelope, and the ballot is anonymous, and once separated it’s too late for any change to the actual ballot.
Are you saying that someone can go pull up each of these ballots and, linking it directly to an individual, know how someone voted?
