The chair of the Board of Trustees needs to fire him. The enrollment will probably drop by the end of the semester.
I can’t say I have too much sympathy for people who willingly chose to go to school at Liberty.
Just shows all the holy roller republican voters what their leaders are really like and how they drag them around using their beliefs.
I am…well, very NOT religious.
I experienced a lot of the bad parts of organized religion growing up. Bullying from neighborhood kids not of my religion (to the extent that my parents decided to move so I wouldn’t have literal shit rubbed into my hair as I was waiting for the bus to elementary school), and my own religion telling me that some of the things I liked were gateways into hell and devil worship, etc. (Who knew that playing D&D was literal paganism? Thank you Catholic School CCD classes for letting me know.)
Suffice it to say that most of my early experiences with organized religions of ALL kinds was…not positive.
That’s Idaho for you. As I grew older, I found and connected with other people who called themselves Christian. They’re my in-laws now. And they’re very definitely not American. They’re also some of the most wonderful and amazing people I have ever met. I absolutely adore them. They are everything that I aspire to be. They’re kind, smart, generous, gentle…I could go on. I really, really could. They’re great people.
If that sort of Christian still exists here in the U.S. they should be outraged. And they should be a LOT more vocal.
Do you think students end up at Liberty if they have a lot of other choices, or have been brought up to question authority?
Is it still named Livberty University…I thought the name was being changed to Koch Brothers University of Young Republican Confederates.
Wow, the knives are really out for Falwell, Jr. They want him out at Liberty and I think they’re going to get what they wish for.
It is, but I might have to tap out. After the NRA, my schedenfreud already is overflowing. I’m not sure how much more I can handle.
Interesting position he’s put himself in - by calling in the FBI, he’s lost the option to claim the emails are fake.
I’ve heard that name before!
I remember a woman softball pitcher that offered sailors at a Navy base $100 if they could make contact with her pitches. Didn’t have to get a hit. Just make contact. A bunch of them lined up to try. She kept her $100 - and she was throwing strikes.
The “team” was called The Queen and Her Court. Was that Dot?
UPDATE: A quick google search answered my question. Rosie Black was the pitcher for the Queen and Her Court. Man, she was throwing smoke that day I watched her mow down one swabbie after another!
A good memory I hadn’t recalled in years!
From the footnotes: “(17) And by ‘ravine’ of course we mean asscrack.”
Oh. That makes me so sad
The entire Falwell “Empire” is a con game and a fraud; exploiting and nurturing the gullibility and credulity of the fools who believe in the invisible man in the sky. Jerry Falwell was a huckster and an obese pant load; he was a con-man through and through. But, don’t take my word for it, let the awesome Christopher Hitchens explain: https://youtu.be/UIviufQ4APo
I would just refine the point about the atheist president to apply to an admittedly atheist president. I think we have an atheist president now, but the sheep are willing to believe he is not because he let some religious leaders go into his office and put their paws on him.
Wouldn’t you? Not bad enough he’s a grifter and a perv—pardon my prejudice, I have no problem with most of the usual kinks if it’s consenting adults but that cuck thing, what is up with that?—anyway not bad enough but he’s obviously a huge churlish jerk on top of it all. I’m sure he’s pure misery to be around.
More disgusting crap from Jerry Falwell, Sr. who said the anti-christ is already here and is a male Jew. This was in 1999:
I’m hoping this inspires the employees of some of the mega churches to come clean about the abuses they’ve observed too.
Speaking of weird people I stumbled across this article reading another one.
