I expect another disgusting capitulation by the Democrats. The GOP will start the process of starving people to death or kicking them out into the street, and the Dems, being the compassionate party, will show that they are either compromised or that they’re terrible negotiators with no balls at all - and so Trump gains more power. It’s a horrible spectacle that makes me feel bad for America and humanity.

Well, it’s another government shutdown if Congress can’t agree to fund the remaining bills by the end of January.
Also, the package of remaining bills that have to be approved includes some important funding for things like Energy & Water, Financial Services, Interior/Environment, Transportation/HUD, Labor/HHS/Education, as well as other stuff tha’ts problematic like Homeland Security. You would notice it if most Federal government services just stopped for an indefinite period.

Seems to me the GOP goobers do not want to govern in any real sense. To do so requires including democrats and that is anathema to them. I see another shutdown more destructive than the last.
My day dream right now is all members of both chambers being held in a “gentile nonviolent but hostage” situation in the House chamber by a couple million “no kings” demonstrators. The demand:… get yer shit together and act like adults and reach consensus on bills dammit!!! Do your jobs!!

I’m going to be the voice NOT condemning Democrats. They do not have the power to do anything yet. (Yes, eight of them ended the last show-down abruptly by deciding not to starve the hungry and the poor. However upsetting that was, it was a moral choice.) Democrats need Republicans in order to effect change. Republican voters care about the Epstein files (and healthcare); let’s keep stirring the pot and see what leverage that will put on the Republicans in Congress. The pressure is building.

STEPHENS COUNTY, Okla. —
Authorities arrested a suspect in connection with a deadly Stephens County shooting after he admitted to investigators that he was target practicing with a gun he had gotten for Christmas.
Around 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Survival Flight EMS and the Meridian Fire Department responded after a person was shot on County Road 1800. That person later died.
The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office said an investigation revealed that a person received a gun for Christmas and was target practicing in his backyard. Investigators believe the person was pointing the gun in the direction of the scene where the victim was shot.
