Republicans Take Aim At Whole Constellation Of Privacy Rights

It’s :100:% Hypocrisy All The Time and the Republican Party is extremely dangerous. If we don’t stop this sh*t now it’s going to get really bad for the rest of us.

REPUBLICANS ARE OUT OF CONTROL.

You kinda have to wonder how Clarence Thomas feels about outlawing interracial marriage.

His wife is a Republican activist, why he would do that. He should recuse from all political cases, but of course he wont because he is the shameless and corrupt pervert that Anita Hill told us he was.

There are not that many public examples of self-hate more apt than that of Clarence Thomas.

Like I said, Republicans are out of control and they must be stopped. Don’t ask me how because I don’t really know. Democrats at the very least need to put themselves out there as a viable alternative to this GQP madness. Start with things like school boards and local offices and work our way up the food chain. It can be done.

I still contend that the GOP have no idea of what they will bring down if any of these cases or overturned.
The most ridiculous one would be leaving Loving v Virginia up to the states. There are people in all 50 states that are in interracial marriages. How does a state government have the right not to recognize the legal marriage of couple that wed in a state where it remained legal when they move to a state that bans it? How would they deal with the children of such a marriage? Would it only apply to black and white marriages, or other races?
When it comes down to it each one of these case will be bad for business.

Off topic but of interest. For additional reading on recent events and many questions that remain BEFORE Trump called for Putin to bail him out:

And just where is the Republican Party? Once again, their silence is complicity. This is a serious time for serious people, and the Republican Party members are not to be trusted.

I live in a small town in Arkansas and several of my neighbors have fully automatic machine guns that they fire off every week. Sarah Huckabee Slanders will probably be our next Governor and her local commercials are targeting the LIBERAL LEFT and CNN.

I don’t think it’s kompromat. I think it’s because every Senator’s #1 priority is to make sure they get reelected again, holding their seat and the power that comes with it. Everything else is secondary. McConnell is very good at pulling strings, calling in favors, and quashing primary challenges to help them get reelected.

And of course the obverse applies as well. Cross McConnell at your peril, because he can make sure you lose your seat. That’s powerful stuff in DC. It’s how he keeps his caucus in line.

Cut em loose and cut em off financially and otherwise. I know that’s not a realistic position but it’d be fun to watch.

I’m sure you are right, but the toadying is just mind-boggling. Especially when you see it extending to FatAss.

Here we go again.

With a robust 6-3 conservative majority on the Supreme Court, the GOP’s ambition to rework the privacy … gains of the last 60 years isn’t idle aspiration but a very real threat

The GOP claims that they want government out of people’s lives.

The GOP are liars.

Moscow Mitch may have told her it was ok but I believe she would have voted for the nominee anyway. LePage is running for ME governor again and she needs a little separation from the more vocal nuts in the GOP in order to maintain her self-perceived “appearance” of careful consideration and fairness. It’s not exactly a “declaration of conscience” speech/decision, but it’s probably the best she can do. She’s my senator, I don’t like her but, I’ll take the yes vote. Just pray she doesn’t give a long speech on the floor when the Senate vote is called!

I’m wondering if Thomas might not hate the United States so much that he wants to destroy it, much as Samson destroyed the temple by pulling it in on himself once his hair had grown back.

It makes sense if you connect the toadying to the election cycle, which is all they really care about. Primary challenges waste money and effort they’d rather save for the general election. Toadying up to Trump was the key to avoiding a primary challenge, at least until recently. That may be changing as Trump is picking losers to endorse in most of the current races.

Always remember and never forget:

This nominee to the Court doesn’t change the balance.

Were she up to replacing a conservative on the court, she’d’ve had no chance. That’s why the GQP will allow it.

And yes, I said ‘allow’.
