Republicans Manufacture Hysteria About 'Socialism' — They Have Little Else to Talk About

Throwing Socialism At the Wall Because There’s Nothing Else to Throw House Republicans voted on an amusingly slapdash resolution last week that both condemned the concept of “socialism” and made the case for how great the SAVE America Act is. The resolution was put forward by Rep. Jeff Crank (R-CO), seemingly in an attempt to…

Marshall is running for reelection this year. You would think it is a safe seat and it probably is but the Democrat who has my attention is Adam Hamilton, Democrat

Adam Hamilton

Adam Hamilton

  • Political experience: Hamilton has never held political office, but he has given two separate $500 donations to two centrist Democratic candidates campaigns, Sharice Davids and Barbara Bollier.

  • What else? He is the leader of the largest church congregation in the state. There were questions on whether Hamilton would run as an independent, but he ultimately decided to run as a Democrat.

  • Platform: His campaign is predicated on listening to constituents and affordability. Hamilton criticized Republican incumbent Sen. Roger Marshall for not listening to constituents’ concerns. The pastor has also been focused on affordability due in part to conversations he’s had with Kansas farmers and ranchers who aired their frustrations with the price of inputs and tariffs implemented by the Trump administration.

Don’t forget he is the pastor of the largest congregation in his state. Let that soak in. He is running because he thinks Marshall isn’t paying attention to his constituents.

Regardless where he is from, is this really a surprise?

Republicans Manufacture Hysteria About ‘Socialism’ — They Have Little Else to Talk About

Not true – they have Manufactured Hysteria About Trans People to talk about!

Every election in which I’ve been able to vote, OPP (other people’s privates) have been the central organizing principal of Republican campaigns, from Reagan to Trump: “AIDS is the Gay Disease!” and “Satanic Child Abuse!” and “Gays in the Military!” and “Abortion is Baby Killing!” and “Abstinence is Birth Control!” and “Men Dress as Women to Rape Girls in Restrooms!” and “Teachers Do Sexual Reassignment in Schools!” and “Flaccid Warriors Need Testosterone Shots!” and on and on and on…

Never underestimate a desperate Republican’s ability to deflect from their abysmal failures – by pointing and screaming at someone else’s genitals.

Ususally Doctors who go after people (mostly poor people) for medical debt sell their cases to some scumbag who has a collection law firm on retainer. I am surprised he was his own scumbag.

Sorry but in the industry where the plaintiff goes after somebody who is too sick and too poor to file a bankruptcy scumbag is a term of art. .

Some how the resolution being sposored by a “crank" seemed appropriate.

…Informally, a crank is a bad-tempered person or someone that supports bizarre causes or has strange ideas…

… the key point here is that Republicans are talking about socialism and fearmongering about “radical leftists” again this cycle because they have nothing else with which to energize voters as they attempt to hold Congress.

Amy Acton, the Democratic candidate for Ohio governor, was unharmed after an armed man allegedly pushed and lunged toward her during a campaign event at the Canfield Fair on September 6, 2026.
Police identified the suspect as 38-year-old Patrick Havas. He was arrested and reportedly had two handguns and brass knuckles, although authorities said the weapons were not brandished or removed from their holsters. Several people were knocked down or injured during the incident. Havas faces two counts of assault and one count of disorderly conduct. PBS2

Is it fair to think of the Q-anonics’ “Demonrat pedophile conspiracy to be eliminated in the Storm” as a kind of crossover hit with the Eliminationist Rhetoric?

Off topic: there was a fatal shooting a few blocks from my house, at the school my kids went to. Article.

Reading between the lines it looks like suicide by cop, but we really don’t know right now.

Just a other day in America.

Years ago Cargo Jr. was a passenger in a car involved in a collision. He was unhurt but ambulanced to the ER and subjected to a bunch of imaging tests or whatever. Total bill amounted to about $6k.

His buddy, who was driving, botched the accident report, so my son’s name was left off and the insurance company didn’t pick up the tab until after I had straightened it all out.

Bill collectors harrassed him for months, even after I pointed out to them that the claims had been paid. Their excuse, in so many words, was that they bought the debt and were going to collect it.

So, another bunch of scumbags.

aren’t you under no obligation to pay purchasers of your debt? The original owner of the debt having sold it off?

In that setting, proof of payment is a vaild defense. The sad thing is you needed to hire a lawyer. Most collection firms would drop the case if they knew theire was lawyer on the other side.

I would think that the original owner of the debt would have bought it back from the collection agency, and probably did, but the collection agency was pretty scummy, I think barely removed from a criminal enterprise.
