Republicans Have No Effing Clue What To Do With The Alabama IVF Ruling

This keeps coming up, as if it is some sort of gotcha. Many of these states do allow this. It’s not a gotcha. Certainly it wouldn’t work in federal court, because this is a state ruling.

This ruling is awful, stupid, and misguided. The tax consequences for the state of Alabama are the least of its impacts.

Now, that would have been a miscarriage of justice.

I really do wish one Democrat would grow a fucking pair and say out loud that pregnancy isn’t possible without sperm so we need to regulate it. Make up some outrageous law that requires all males by the age of 18 to freeze their sperm and/or undergo vasectomies and only once they can prove they’re emotionally mature and married are they allowed to either have the vasectomy reversed or access their frozen sperm. How is it that we have no push back for this 13th century religious fuckwit to put all the burden and onus onto women, unless he doesn’t know how babies are made, which would be a relentless line of mockery and abuse he richly fucking deserves.

And more poor.

If they do, freezing embryos is going to become quiet an industry, tax revenue will plummet.

If the killing of any cell capable of producing a human being if provided with the right environment is murder, the clipping of a hangnail is mass murder. All of those adult cells with a full working complement of DNA could be cloned.

Yep. Run up the costs and double the misery.

I’m gonna take a wild ass guess and suggest that Tuberville probably thinks that the fallopian tubes is a subway system in Rome.

At least one (brown) woman ended up in jail because her miscarriage “wasn’t done right.”

Would clipping a hangnail render the adult cells of the clipped portion unclonable?

Natural conception discards quite as many unviable fertilized eggs at various stages of development. The anti-choice people are demanding that IVF do it with less fertilized egg loss than Nature’s Gawd does.

My 39 year old daughter is pregnant because of IVF. No offense but I’m glad my new granddaughter will be a NY girl at least at the beginning.

Are the swastikas on the wall of the Alabama Supreme Court intentional? Are they there to send a message? Or was it just an oversight? Hard to believe that a “design” with that much work put into it doesn’t have intention. Wtf?

Probably not technically feasible yet for humans but any adult cell with a full complement of DNA has that potential.

I have two precious grandchildren conceived via IVF. Their parents struggled mightily to start a family the old fashioned way, but to no avail. Human biology sometimes does not cooperate. IVF treatment is no walk in the park. It’s stressful and sometimes painful and sometimes doesn’t work. Every couple who goes through this knows what is at stake and to have their options taken away from this is pure cruelty. I would post a pic of my beautiful grandchildren but I will protect their, and their parents’ privacy. I am saddened and outraged. Science brought my family an option for building a family and some rednecks in Alabammy want to deny people their basic right to that decision. I’m nauseated. To quote Joe, “Folks, the choice is clear.” No more spewing about his age. Just vote for him.

Pro choice is so much easier, y’all. IVF should meet the same general building and fire codes as every other clinic. They should honor the terms of their contracts. That’s all there is to it.

Once you arrogate unto yourself, the privilege to sit in judgement which women deserve sovereignty over their internal organs in what situations, your judgements are 100% fair game for politicization and “didn’t read the ruling” doesn’t cut it longer than four hours.
