Republicans won back the House Wednesday, but are only on track for a very slim majority.
What was long predicted to be a midterm shellacking in the stylings of the Republican tsunamis of past Democratic-trifeca years of 1994 and 2010 fizzled out to the point that the lower chamber became little more than a tossup.
That is certainly my expectation FWIW. Repuglicans may try to act like adults initially in a vain attempt to appear statesmanlike or even normal but there is no way that provides the red meat MAGA requires nor is it consistent with many of the personalities in that fetid swamp so I expect a hot mess well before the first year of their majority is over.
They’ll move to impeach President Joe Biden and, likely, assorted Cabinet members.
Soon, it will be a point of shame for Cabinet officials that they weren’t investigated:
“I’m sorry, Bob, but your failure to be called before a committee is a blot on the family escutcheon. Your mother and I have no choice but to change our names and move to Canada.”
I’d like to see the metrics of how many of the unnecessary deaths of Trump voters from COVID due to his malfeasance and sheer stubbornness in redder districts helped to keep the senate in Democratic control and a very narrow Republican margin in the house. Call it the Cain line.
The GQP will overreach badly by the end of the first week they’re in control.
They’ll make themselves so unpopular that the Dems will retake the House and expand their Senate control in a walk.
