Unlike some of Donald Trump’s now-estranged former allies who are warning that the former president can and will make good on his promises to deploy the military to go after his political opponents — such ex-Defense Secretary Mark Esper — some elected Republicans are struggling to respond to the whole “enemy from within” thing. That’s…
Makes me think we need to look at investigating some of these people for sedition
“I’m not saying we should do a tit for tat at all, that’s not what should happen. But we do need to look at who’s trying to destroy our American system. Who’s trying to destroy the democracy that we have and taking a very, very hard look at it,” Mullin said.
May a hot, flat irony fall from the sky-- squarely on Markwayne’s dense head.
Ok, I remember when Republicans said Roe was settled law. Look where that went.
I am sure many feel uncomfortable about Trump’s BS desire to use the military against citizens, and I am pretty sure most of them would willingly, many of them enthusiastically, fall in line behind it.
Simply put, it gets them power, the #1 thing most Republican politicians seek by going into politics.
The MAGA crowd would fall in behind it because they would put on their red ball caps and be sure it wouldn’t be them but just those people getting arrested or just shot. The leapards aren’t going to eat their faces.
The more opportunistic GOP types are falling all over themselves to convince us that we don’t see what is out there in plain sight. It’s a bit like living with an alcoholic family.
The particularly craven thing about these folks is that, unlike the more deluded members of the “base”, they know full well what Trump is doing, and why he is doing it.
As usual, the GOP these days, outside of the few with patriotism and a conscience, is all about power and money, and nothing else.
So sick of repubs trying to squirrel their way out of these questions. He absolutely will go after his enemies and use whatever he can get away with to do it. And they shouldn’t think for a minute that he won’t throw them under the bus, too. If he thinks he can get away with it, he’ll throw away democracy and disband the US Congress. Because Congress might try to impeach him for a third time.
There’s a scene in the first Conan the Barbarian movie, in which the evil serpent cult leader played by James Earl Jones looks up into the crowd standing in various places on his temple wall and beckons one to jump. I think it’s a woman, and she does jump to her death on his behalf.
That’s where we are right now. The treason shitpile has been asking the GOP to jump to their deaths politically for some time now, but if he gets into the WH it won’t take long before he will begin asking them to jump literally. They’ve allowed themselves to be in this spot, in the temple, at this late hour. What you gonna do, fuckers?
I have no empathy for them. I also guarantee they’re praying for Kamala to win.
I have a suggestion for them: “That motherfucker is crazy.”
I hope they don’t take my advice, and instead go down in flames with Off-Brand Orban.
“Trump ally and Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin tried a different approach when he was pressed on the issue: flat out lying…‘What I want to just make very clear is that it’s my belief that what former President Trump is talking about are the people that are coming over the border’…”
Sure, sure…because "the enemy within" really means "the enemy without"!
(Or some such horse sh-t.)
Abject moral cowardice.
Youngkin is clearly a bumpkin.
The article has outlined three Republican politicians who know it is wrong, but would no doubt fall in line if necessary to keep Trump happy. What does he have on them?
Let me say it clearly
…
Trump is a clear and all to present danger to America, what the country should stand for and how we should act toward each other. I hate him. As degenerate man and dangerous politician. He should’ve been sentenced for his 34 felonies months ago. He should be in prison.
Their addresses.
And the Brownshirts to make use of 'em.
…and if they’re doing it our way, we label Americans. Once we’ve defined who qualifies as Americans, the problem of who the Army is allowed to shoot goes away
Whelp, this oughta sting, even for the clueless Desantis crowd: ““To keep it simple for the State of Florida: it’s the First Amendment, stupid,” the ruling continued.”

You mean to separate Mark from Wayne?
Why is the English language so hard for some Americans?
