The Ukraine bombshell revealed in former National Security Adviser John Bolton’s unpublished manuscript has made it more difficult for Republican senators to insist that additional witness testimony is unnecessary.
How will this satisfy the need to question the witness?
Also, it’s hard to believe that Bolton and Trump were the only ones in the room. How will this satisfy the need to talk to those other people, as well?
And if Lankford got his way and Bolton stepped in front of that microphone and implicated Spanky these same repubs would be saying Bolton was lying because he was not under oath. What a bunch of two faced bastards.
Jurors in the murder trial urged the judge not to call the eyewitness to the murder, insisting instead that he stand on the street corner outside the courtroom and tell passersby about what he saw. “We could probably maybe hear him fine through the window, your honor,” the jury foreman said. “But for God’s sake please don’t bring him in here.”
I know it wouldn’t be simple, but why not start a second impeachment inquiry in the House based on the new information and the Senate’s refusal to call witnesses? Sure it would be nutty, but so is not calling witnesses—fight nutty with nutty. Can’t look good for Republican senators to have the president impeached a second time because they wouldn’t do their jobs the first time.
Republicans losing/lost all credibility, running around like chickens with their heads cut off for the Orange menace. Blindsided is the new catch phase for the demise of Republican Senate unity.
And if they are so fucking stupid and unaware so as to be blindsided by the obvious and expected ‘revelations’ in Bolton’s book manuscript, then they should really be engaged in an occupation at about the temporary assistant manager level or below (no offense to assistant managers intended - you’ve helped me out many times).
