With the legislation starting in Delaware, we can look forward to right-wing groups crying foul and running to SCOTUS to demand they put Delaware and other States interested in protecting their citizens’ right to vote in its place.

Why gerrymander now? Only one reason. To further hate, division and chaos so Republicans can need your money for the “national security” that a ballroom brings.
If you believe in the strength of a united country, vote Democratic.
If you want to accept what politicians tell the media, vote Republican.
The SCOTUS ruling also invalidates provisions of the FL Constitution requiring the use of race in redistricting
Then there’s no need for a big hullabaloo over districting.
You don’t need demographers pouring over the races of residents. Just draw some areas of equal-ish numbers of people and call it a day. It’ll take maybe an hour.

When splitting up Black congressional districts, states say they are splitting up Democrats. When creating a Black congressional district, the Supreme Court says this is a racial action. Heads you lose, tails you lose.

Key Facts
The global benchmark Brent Crude futures surged to $126 per barrel on Thursday morning, the highest level its hit since 2022, before paring the gains and settling below $120 per barrel.
The U.S. benchmark West Texas Intermediate briefly breached the $110 per barrel mark before settling at just under $108 per barrel.
Earlier on Wednesday, Iran’s parliament speaker Mohammad Ghalibaf, one of the country’s senior-most leaders, addressed the rising oil prices on X by taking several jibes at the White House, saying the “junk advice” the U.S. administration has relied on has “cranked oil up to $120+.”
Without specifying what his country plans to do, Ghalibaf warned of a further increase saying, “Next stop:140”

On Wall Street, TACO — Trump Always Chickens Out — has abruptly been replaced as a favorite meme by NACHO — Not a Chance Hormuz Opens. As a result, oil futures have soared.
Realistically, the only way to reopen the Strait of Hormuz is for both sides to stand down — for Iran to lift its de facto embargo on shipping through the Strait, while the U.S. lifts its blockade on Iranian shipping.
Such a mutual stand-down wouldn’t require negotiating a formal deal, nor would it require that either regime trust the other. All it need involve is for both sides to stop doing what they are doing. And the way to such a non-deal remains open. Indeed, the Iranians announced on April 17 that they would allow traffic through the Strait to resume. Not coincidentally, the price of Brent oil futures hit a low of just over $90 a barrel just after Iran’s announcement.
So what is preventing the reopening of the Strait? Three factors: Trump’s ego, his ignorance, and the Iranians’ unfortunately justified belief that any agreement they reach with America would be effectively worthless.
Trump’s ego is so fragile that he can never admit losing. He cannot bear to face up to the reality that he, more or less single-handedly, led America to the greatest strategic defeat in its history. So he desperately wants to extract concessions from Iran that would lend him a fig leaf and allow him to claim victory
The Iranians are well aware that Trump has betrayed virtually every foreign policy agreement that he could get his hands on. He violated long-standing trade agreements through his unilateral imposition of tariffs. He has repeatedly undermined Ukraine. He has actively worked to destroy NATO. And he cancelled the Obama-negotiated deal limiting Iran’s nuclear program. Trump has demonstrated that he is not and will never be a credible negotiating partner.
As a result, Iran won’t make any concessions that weaken its strategic position — which means that it won’t offer Trump anything that he can use to declare victory.

The NAACP Legal Defense fund’s president coined the term ‘Alito Maps’ - A map, she said, that ‘blatantly dilutes the voting power of Black voters and other disenfranchised communities on account of race in order to maximize partisan advantage’.
If we can have Kavanaugh stops, we can have Alito maps. If Alito is so proud of his decision, let it be permanently named after him, so that history never forgets.
