For those wondering, sheâs the Clarence Thomas of women juristsâŚreplacing a major liberal figure of the same race/sex with a crass opportunist with questionable skills or understanding of the law, willing to twist it to get the result they want, and uninterested in ruling based on the Constitution or helping people. So, perfect for RepublicansâŚ
This 6-3 court is just setting up a revolt against them, you can bet they will continually rule against centrist Democratic policies that are popular with everyone (say, access to birth control, or background checks for gun purchases), and overextend their rulings beyond the scope of the case, always ruling in a way that pushes their ideology and hurts people while helping religions, the wealthy and businesses. A few of those decisions (the ACA repeal being the first), and people will rebel, Democrats will remove their power through legislation, and Democratic presidents will ignore their decisions.
In whatever way, this court will end the legitimacy of the Supreme CourtâŚRoberts has worked very hard to try to make it legitimate as it undid many protections for people, and he largely succeeded. Now, weâll see what happens when the people who have been pushing to foist a right wing court, and their bent towards theocracy and dominion by conservatives, get their way and overplay their hand in their haste to undo democracy and freedoms for any non-white, non-evangelical Americans.

Even if thereâs some big new allegation against her like Dr Fordâs attempted rape allegation against Kavanaugh, the GOP would still rush to confirm Barrett and wouldnât delay anything. At this point, theyâd be fine if there was video evidence of her blowing up a cruise ship filled with White pregnant Texan women.
While GOP senators could see their poll numbers go down from their hypocrisy back home, I have to doubt that would even have an effect on confirmation at this point since they donât want to piss off their base by not going through with the confirmation.
Only way this can be stalled is if Pelosi calls for impeachment repeatedly and forces 51 GOP Senators on the floor when theyâd rather be campaigning.

Not in 2012 or 2013. True, we could never know but it would have been easier to replace a liberal justice appointed by a democrat with another liberal justice appointed by a democrat. Replacing Kennedy (appointed by a republican) with Garland was not the same situation.
