He is like that guy on the submerged submarine who just found out the ravenous, killer fungus creature is loose in the vents and that guy now realizes he welded his hatches shut against sunlight and public opinion.
For the same reason that Trump blames Obama about broken Covid-19 tests. Because he can, and his bases east it all up. Those guys that believe Noah put two of each animals in an ark, will believe anything.

I think they believe that beating up on Obama will rile up their base as if they don’t hate Obama enough already. But if these clowns want to run against Obama, I’m all for it. This race is most likely going to come down to Trump’s response to the virus. If they want to make a comparison between themselves and how the Obama administration would’ve handled the response, Biden wins by a landslide.

Trump absolutely MUST HAVE 100% of the “BASE” vote for him in 2020, or he is TOAST and he knows it.
Therefore he is running a campaign squarely aimed at keeping “The Base” solidly with him. He knows that he has already lost Suburban Women, Minorities, Independents, and of course Democrats, so he figures he has “nothing to lose” by crassly appealing directly to his White, Male, Evangelical, Racist, Misogynistic “Base” since it is all he has, and he must protect that or 2020 becomes 20-to-Life for him if he is defeated.
