Acting Navy Secretary Thomas Modly has resigned amid controversy over his criticism of a fired captain who raised alarms about the coronavirus on his ship, according to CNN and Politico.
Dude seemed like he had some personal issues based on his rant.
Yet another nasty piece of work going out the door. Now if only he could drag the rest of the lot with him it would be a win win.
Given his rant, I’m not sure that his family particularly wants to spend more time with him. Do they have an option to reject his resignation?
Prediction: they’ll leave him dangling for several days while imPotus publicly muses about whether he should give him a thumbs up or down. It’ll be down, of course.

From Trump’s cowardly perspective, this will be the perfect outcome. He got rid of Captain Crozier for daring to imply things weren’t being handled perfectly, and he still gets to shit-can Modly for the decision, since it proved unpopular. All without the fact Trump essentially demanded the firing appearing in many stories, leaving him untouched.
