The only thing that surprises me about this is that it wasn’t reported weeks ago.
Birx and Trump reportedly feel that the CDC’s decision to include deaths of people who expired after showing COVID-19 symptoms but who never tested positive unjustly inflates the death toll from the pandemic.
Speaking about the untested dead Americans and elaborating on a prior statement from Monday’s Rose Garden press briefing, Trump said, “They shouldn’t want to get tested.”
In late breaking news, the CDC reports that the COVID 19 virus has disappeared and the number of deaths has gone to zero. CDC head “It’s like a miracle!”
I wonder if they’ll try to suppress local news from covering the shitshow at the hospital. Or stop CNN from showing the video of overrun hospitals, overflowing morgues and mass graves. Or prevent the inevitable interviews with the doctors, nurses and first responders.
No, I don’t really wonder. Of course they will. And failing that, they’ll claim it’s all fake news.
Tinkering with/Mitigating the inconvenience of facts is, of course, nothing new with these people. Recall that Trump’s re-election campaign slogan was “Keep America Great.” Now it’s “Transitioning to Greatness.”
All this moving-around of goalposts and hoping no one will notice, when the one thing that might win him re-election–taking an interest in good governance during a national emergency–he cannot/refuses to do.
In the Chernobyl miniseries, early responders were told that they would be exposed to as much as 3.6 rem per hour, high but manageable. They were really exposed to a lethal 15,000 rem per hour because the gauges used at the plant only read up to 3.6 rem. The tools you use to measure outcome are important. If testing is the rate limiting step, then our data is only as good as the test (or the availability of the test). COVID-19 is turning into Trump’s Chernobyl.
How about just counting all the Trump Trailers serving as temporary morgues, and figure out how many Trump Pandemic corpses they can stuff into each?
Or the number of Trump Trenches being dug to handle the volume?
Satellite imagery would be able to document the actual count.
And there it is. We could see this coming when the numbers went higher than he predicted repeatedly.
What is most alarming here is the evident spread of Mass Hysteria in the US that “it’s all over and we can relax now and get back to drinking at the bar and watching sports.”
This is the same, dangerous kind of “Group-Think” that led to acceptance of the “Nuremberg Laws” in Germany in the 1930’s, where the populace was “Big Lied” into believing things that were just not true (it’s all the JEWS FAULT and you are the MASTER RACE and War will be EASY and QUICK.)
This doesn’t happen by chance, and it requires that the populace WANTS to believe the falsehoods being fed to them by the Media and the Government. They DON’T WANT to believe the Science, they DON’T WANT to believe the Medical Experts. They DON’T WANT to believe the Statistics.
Like petulant, angry children, they refuse to accept reality, even if it kills them.

If CDC succumbs to this tactic, individuals involved need to be fired for cause with loss of pension. Facts are what facts are, and it may be time to stand up for what is right. We are talking about life and death of US citizens, and no party should tinker with the numbers. Accountability for all.
