In a last ditch effort to convince his vice president to support an effort to stop Congress from reaffirming Joe Biden’s electoral victory last week, President Donald Trump reportedly told Mike Pence that he could either be remembered in history as “a patriot” or “a pussy.”
I think Trump fails to realize that even Mike Pence probably assigned those descriptors to the opposite actions Trump did, given Trump’s bullying behavior if nothing else.
This has been mentioned already in many other comment threads: I understand now that Mr. Trump will be attempting to grab the Vice President the next time they meet.
I guess he is using “pussy” in the pejorative to indicate that Pence would be weak like a woman, or something. Mostly I see a bunch of weak Republican men running the show in Washington. The women, on average, seem much better suited to stand strong and make tough decisions. Maybe it would be better to suggest that Pence would go down in history as a seedless Republican ball sack if he didn’t make the right decision - although in all fairness, no decision Pence could make for the rest of this life will change that outcome.
“You can either go down in history as a patriot, or you can go down in history as a pussy,” Trump told Pence hours before his supporters staged a deadly insurrection at the U.S. Capitol according to the New York Times.
I don’t think Dotard T rumpp knows what a pussy is.
In the end, Mike Pence played it by the books: Wouldn’t go along with the coup but wouldn’t go along with those clamoring for him to invoke the 25th Amendment either. He’s not a hero, but he did his job as expected at great risk to himself and his family. Unless more damning information surfaces, I think we should go easy on him.
