Report: Threat By National Archives May Have Ended Trump’s Impasse On Turning Over Records

And now…this…

Well one we’ve been talking about this since 2018. But back then it seemed like an oddity, easily explained by Trump psychopathology. And two there is so much of Trump’s shitty behaviors that have been flooding the zone, as Bannon so eloquently phrases it.

To take @CaptainObvious’ mantle, since the habit predates his presidency, i’d say you’re dead on.
All those NDAs his employees signed weren’t, of course, about the ‘transparency’ his right wing supporters have so come to love, both for Democratic initiatives and to trivialize their own culpability.

Biden will prove that he is cognitively aware by vetoing any such garbage bill they might pass.

What’s still being hidden are the transcripts of the weekly Christian-Nationalist “prayer meetings” held at the White House that reveal in no uncertain terms the Evangelical’s eternal mission to enslave humanity under their one true God through their taking total control of the US government and using all the powers thereby consolidated to effect that End. Praise the Lord Jesus, Amen!

You can always count on the Super Bowl for hilarious, self spoofing commercials…

There are two pieces to this equation. The Dems need to talk about it, but, more importantly, the Press have to report that they are talking about it. That last piece is frequently missing. :smirk:

Yeah, honoring customary procedures and limits allowed our democratic government to function without a superstructure of cumbersome regulations and sanctions. The customs enabled efficient work.
Of course, our press corps couldn’t see this and almost celebrated the novelty of Donnie’s ‘norm-busting.’

“The ad will air across NBC platforms in Pennsylvania during the Super Bowl.”

Thank god I don’t have to watch this. I’ll be visiting friends of a friend who are trumpets. Is it too late to say I have a cold?

Stern reportedly grew increasingly frustrated when several months of a back and forth with Trump’s team proved fruitless.

For the life of me I don’t understand why the everyday timetables and deadlines protocols don’t apply in this sort of situation: please deliver up the goods within 28 days or enforcement action will be taken. Grant a 14-day extension if it is requested, then enforce the law and publicize the situation to the taxpayers and voters to whom all parties are answerable. Government property, in particular national archives, can’t be treated as if it were private property that is none of anybody’s business until offIcials or ex-officials decide that it is.

Yes, and as Ms. Bartiromo appears to be demonstrating in the pic, 2 + 2 = 5.

And that’s much of the problem right?

A car thief wouldn’t get very far pleading that their Narcissistic personality disorder expresses itself through stealing progressively more expensive automobiles.

Yet for Trump, so often, explaining it as psychopathology seems to give him carte blanche – a “white card” that privileges him to avoid prosecution.

As I posted on another thread, isn’t Marshall the moron who couldn’t figure out how to google Fauci’s financial disclosures?

No teeth there, but some pretty serious teeth if Trump absconded with classified documents without declassifying them before leaving office. People are serving jail time for that.

I’m not sure what the formal process is, but I don’t think it’s enough for him to just say “Oh sure, I declassified them” if it wasn’t documented at the time.

Don’t forget that Trump’s “white card” has a heavy green border.

That, or a recurring bout of sanity?

one source told CNN that the document turnover has “not been fully resolved.” The source reportedly also claimed that Trump is still in possession of documents the Archives wants.

When do we get a search warrant? Seriously.

One source told CNN that Archives lawyer Stern is “persnickety” about securing presidential records, saying that it’s likely that Stern “must have lost his mind” over Trump’s haphazard record-keeping habits.

They can just fu*k right off with that. Maybe the f’ing criminal shouldn’t commit so many crimes. You ever think of that, anonymous source douchebag?
