Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is overseeing employees who are reportedly growing more fed up with him by the day as he becomes further enmeshed in the scandal over President Donald Trump’s attempt to pressure Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden.

Too bad they work for him and not he for them.

Their anger is moot. There’s nothing they can really do about it.

That’s not quite true. They could start anonymously releasing all kinds of damning documents. I hope they will.

More whistleblowers, please. Also at DOJ against Barr.

Any decent whistleblowers in the State Dept? Just curious.

We are now in the age of Trumpocide.
We the people and they the people of the World will either bow down or be removed in one form or another . Ask the Kurds.
Trump fears only Putin and McConnell and they will prop him up as long as they have something to gain.
Republicans now have their last chance to become American’s or Trump ass kissers.

career staffers are upset with the way Pompeo using the department to help Trump fend off the House impeachment inquiry […]

It does not escape notice that [Pompeo] was on the call where Trump sold the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine up the river

Music to my ears.

I hope they see the importance of speaking out right now and have not been scared off by Trump’s (inept) attempts to silence those who have done so already.

Incidentally:

Slaves were sold down the river, not up!

I wish my dad was around to follow this. As he used to tell me, while he was reading his newspaper,
“the bigger they are, the harder they fall.”
Certain people are now going to fall pretty hard.

Sometimes when a house is so full of rot it is best to tear it down and start all over. The House of Trump is full of rot.

“…attempt to help Republicans “keep the Clinton issue alive” amid Trump’s political disasters.”

How pathetic & predictable for the Rethugnicans to keep the Clinton issue to coverup Trump’s political disasters since they have NO good legislations they can brag about!

All they have is #TrumpTaxScam for the Rich and Unqualified judges + Predator-In-Robes + Extorionist-in-Chief that they aid/abet!

Blast from the past:

This may not be politically correct, but I think that there was a big part of this investigation that was designed to go after people and an individual, Hillary Clinton,” Rep. Richard Hanna (R-N.Y.)

Maybe Pompeo will find a way to fire the career professionals and simply close up shop. Frankly, these people in tRump’s orbit really don’t believe in the mission at Foggy Bottom conducting actual diplomacy anyway. They never have.

tRump’s cronies have practically done that already to the Department of Agriculture and have contemplated doing it to the National Security Council by way of cuts. I suppose this is their shortcut method for alleviating their paranoia, hiding their crimes and denying them a real voice in this maladministration.

Yes.
To get sent up the river meant a nice prison stay.

That was the day I understood that McCarthy was super dumb. He reinforces my first impression regularly.

Well, ummm, yeah, see? Here’s the thing. Fired people have no reason, none at all, not to talk. If you aren’t holding their paychecks hostage you’ve let go of a fair amount of leverage. It’s a conundrum, and not one that typically works out well for the “conundrumee”, (if you will).

It’s taken way, way, way too long to get here, but I am enjoying believing, for the moment at least, that we’ve passed the tipping point. Now, for myself, I’m just worried about overdosing on schadenfreude. (Or choking on popcorn.)

If dead boys and live girls, gross fiscal malfeasance, and multiple accusations of sexual harassment won’t get a Park Superintendent removed, his or her creating an extremely hostile work environment within the park unit will.

It’s a helluva drug. Not gonna lie, snow storm outside or no… there’s a bit of an extra pep in my step today.

This bears watching. We know Pompeo has had anger issues in the past, and if State Department folk are already speaking to news outlets, it’s not a big jump to actual whistleblowing. I don’t think the Titanic had these many leaks.

Thanks, @cervantes. You saved me the trouble, and were more polite about it.
