The Anti Federalists tried and failed to get a mechanism put into the constitution.
I like that thought (but only if it works, I wish Biden a successful Presidency).
Sinema Assures House Dems She Won’t Vote For Reconciliation Bill Until After BIF Is Passed
Someone’s looking to set fire to their own house.
Adjust the Snark meter. I was being facetious.
See, that’s how I think.
Sinema’s saying she will vote for the Reconciliation Bill.
Manchin has also said that he will vote for the Reconciliation Bill
There are details to be hammered out, including this absurd “assurance” by Sinema…
Let’s leave the BeltWay Boys on the $idelines…please

I’ve started to get a pit in my stomach every time I see her name in print.
That’s because so much of this is Performance Art for the BeltWay Boys.
To make that kind of public declaration featured in this story is, itself, churlish and not like someone willing to negotiate.
Her fundraising trip to Europe must be going great. I understand that shoulder-season in Europe is a great time to visit as the big tourist crowds go down. Bet that’s especially true this fall.
Fine with me. We all know the reconciliation plan won’t pass if the “bipartisan” plan is passed first. Call her bluff.
Cue another round of press articles about it being an outrage that House Democrats won’t pass the BIF (which somehow automatically deserves to be passed because a few Senate Republicans voted for it) when it is literally only one or two Democrats from both the House and Senate combined that are blocking the passage of the BBB plan.
Yeah but no way Biden would veto is the problem.
Title could say, “Sen Sinema again confirms with her words that she will be primaried in Arizona in the next election.” The democrats in Arizona continue to be disappointed with her stalling the legislation that many if not most of the voters who voted for Joe Biden in 2020 demanded!
Sinema has not shown herself to be a good faith actor. If Dems cave on Reconciliation it’s all but dead. They should cut the price tag to $2.5T and let the chips fall where they may.

Sorry, not enough Biden/Hillary clouds and shadows…
I could live with someone’s suggestion have passing it, but have the Reconciliation bill voted on the next day, with Biden holding off on signing BIF until the second vote happens.
Her fundraising trip to Europe must be going great.
She’s going to need all the corporate cash she can get, because she certainly isn’t going to get much from the party/grassroot Democrats.
I suspect she is setting herself up to run as an ‘Independent’ in 2024. In a 3-way race between Sinema, progressive Dem candidate and MAGA GOP candidate, I think she stands a chance to win with a plurality of the vote. I don’t see how she wins as either a Democrat or Republican at this point.
MAGA GOP candidate
Whose voters have been told not to vote.
She’s 100% bought. End game. AGENDA OVER.
The only things we can rely on happening in the next 3 years are the GQP taking all of congress in 2023 and the GQP cheating the elections in 2024 to either win or bring the country to a violent crescendo, having forced Harris to toss out certifications that were blatantly illegal in red states where they threw out their votes to try to install the loser as POTUS.
Sinema is an odious creature.
