Rand Paul’s (R-KY) detention by the Transportation Security Administration was triggered by the fact that Paul refused a pat down by TSA workers after he set off a body scanner at a Nashville airport. Desjardins reports that Paul wanted to go through the scanner again instead, and the TSA refused, leading to the detention.
