Report: Perdue Really Didn’t Want To Run For Guv Until Trump Took Him Golfing Four Times

Ex-President Donald Trump had to do quite a bit of arm-twisting to get former Sen. David Perdue (R) to run against Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) in the upcoming gubernatorial election, according to the Washington Post.

I remain at a loss as to the allure of Mango Mussolini. Greed and envy are great motivators, but I still don’t get it why people follow, bow and scrape to him.

I get it -
Everything Trump Touches Dies!
But why does it have to take so damn long!

Cowardice, weakness, laziness, greed, compounded by ego and malleable, pliable minds. Fat Boy is a predator with one skill - finding weak men and exploiting their weaknesses. The same way a pedophile can smell a neglected child, this glutenous pile of shit can sniff out lazy imbeciles and promise them what they most desire. It’s not hard if you’re soulless and evil.

I find it fascinating so many supposed manly-man men in the Trumpist Party so willingly out themselves as total cucks after a few rounds of golf with the orange one. Hell, Graham folded after only one. Riding the links with Trump must be a particular hellish form of psychological, and possibly physical, torture.

Just imagine a horrible caricature of a superhero named Cap’n Asshole or something to that effect, something that might appeal to the base, the mouth breathers, the Id-locked, the 30 year old thirteen year olds, the racists, the bigots, then you start to get the appeal.

"Donald Trump is a weak man’s idea of a strong man." – George Will

That said, it is hard to wrap my head around the number of weak people as you describe.

Methinks Kodachrome and/or jpegs are at the bottom of it.

I’m not a psychiatrist. But Bandy Lee is! And she said long ago he was getting worse and because of that would become more predictable. And that’s why everything he does now is about revenge. That’s all he is now. It’s all that’s left.

The truly weak are exploited to do his bidding; those who vote for him do it for hate, tax cuts, or both. Of the former there are relatively few; the latter we know of 70M or so.

Maybe we have it all wrong. Maybe it’s not Kompromat or anything like that. People just see how brazenly and uncaringly Trump cheats at golf (something that really doesn’t matter one whit), so they eventually see they can’t “fight” him since truth and honesty and integrity have no purchase in his warped reality.

Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. wrote about the “money river.” They take you down to drink from it, and now you are part of it.

Purdue surely sees a big fat check at the end of this road, win or lose. Trouble is, Trump doesn’t always pay. Another trouble is, Purdue isn’t swift enough to see the downside(s) here.

Purdue is just another southern politician, the type that once was a southern Democrat, but flipped over to the Republican Party so as to stay on the gravy train. However, so long as elections are not compromised in Georgia, the efforts of people like Stacy Abrahms to register people and get them to the polls will prevail.

I don’t think so this time or Perdue would have agreed during the first round of golf. Isn’t Perdue wealthy and got wealthier with investments he made while Senator with inside information? We all know that, so not real scary kompromat. I wonder if Perdue just thought, “Fine, I’ll do this, I’ll blow all the shit up and be rid of this sleezy POS Orange Monster for good and go back to my life of luxury in peace after the primary.”

We have a primary here in GA in about a month. I’ve looked at the [R] ballot and am trying to figure out if there are enough less-Trumpy or very not-Trumpy Republicans on it, that my wife and I would cast [R] primary ballots just to add our two votes to the less-crazy side of that party. Like, I’d honestly consider moving out of the state if Jody Freakin’ Hice were to win the Sec State Primary against Raffensperger. HOOO BOY would that be awful. I would only hope that the winner of the Democratic Sec State Primary (let’s GO Bee Nguyen!!) could beat him statewide.

(Georgia allows a voter to choose which party’s Primary ballot to vote; there is no in-party registration.)

The Fellini film Amarcord captures the Mussolini era well and you can see a lot of the Trump like veneration in it as well.

The famous quote # Golf is a Good Walk Spoiled comes to mind. Perdue is just plain gullible.
