I guess he couldn’t handle the truth.

Shorter Milley: I didn’t know what I was doing and was used, and I am humiliated and no one can trust me now. And I thought about stepping down but won’t.

“Considered.” Decisive sort, is he?

Has any news organization reported where Milley and Esper thought they were going when Barr and Trump took them in tow?

“Hey, you twos, get ovah heah, NOW !

The beauty of Trumpism is the using of the “HE SHOULD RESIGN!!!” tactic to install people in the same position more subservient to Trump.

“Competence” is not what Trump is looking for in replacements. He’s looking for subservience, toadiness and destruction…as fast as humanly possible. Rest assured, if Milley resigns, Trump is looking for a person as close to Mike Flynn–in corruption and treason–as possible.

Milley himself?

Millions of Americans are sleeping more soundly because of the apology he issued.

Yeah, but he didn’t.

Tell me again why he’s being hailed for being so brave to come out after-the-fact of his boneheaded move? I’ve seen this movie before. He’ll be fired after tRump loses the election if not before so who gives a shit about Milley. He used poor judgement that was consequential. If he didn’t have the balls to stand up to that shit beforehand then forgetaboutit. I’m so sick of these assholes.

Yeah, chickenshit, etc., but I’m not sorry he will be in charge on election night in November. We could do much worse right now.

Milley didn’t know where he was going. Hopefully that wasn’t true when he was a commander in battle. Probably not. I don’t believe him.

There’s still time, General.

The Chairman of the JCoS reads comments on social media?

Don’t resign. Better to have trump fire you in a series of tweets over the weekend. Much more dignified…

You may disagree, but there is a mindset that if Milley does not stay, or is fired by Trump, then some colossal suck-ass will get the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff who is WAY worse than Milley. It may be theater, but it appears Milley at least has a conscience, unlike his orange boss who has no conscience, and no soul.

When they saw why Trump was there they could have turned around and walked back to the White House. Show a little spine.

I actually agree with his decision not to resign. Having this General who is willing to admit to a mistake, and who I do believe learned from his mistake, is better than a replacement still eager to be Trump’s sycophant.

and in a rare Trump opens his mouth and tells the truth moment…

“Unnamed Defense officials” = Mark Milley doing damage control, yet still unable to bring himself to do anything honorable.

ETTD, Mark. ETTD.

Is a “considering resigning” the supposedly-honorable military equivalent of being very concerned?

The Joint Chiefs have saved us from the apocalypse before now. Critical question is not whether he should resign but whether he will pull an Alexander Haig if it comes to that.
