Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) reportedly advised President Donald Trump to release the memo this week on his phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
One vaguely decent thing the cowardly man has done, and he probably had no idea what the impact was going to be.

He urged ttump to release it cuz he felt they could spin it as they did Mueller report. Not sure if he had foreseen impeachment. If not, then bravo, Pelosi sure caught them off guard.
He wants to be rid of him, too? He really, really hates the “Moscow Mitch” nickname.
McConnell isn’t stupid even if Donny is. He knew what that readout meant even if Donny didn’t.
I dare suggest that he knew it was going to come out sooner or later and he decided that, if it’s gonna lead to Donny’s crash and burn, better it happen now than six months from now when it’s basically too late to replace him on the ticket.
I think #MoscowMitch has his own problems now and just decided that he was done with the idiot.
McConnell was worried about the political damage from public speculation around the call
“It is better to remain quiet and thought perhaps a fool, than to open one’s mouth and remove any doubt.”
I think it’s entirely possible that MoscowMitch is about to throw TraitorTrump to the piranhas. He may well be getting tired of it all.
I bet Trump is now regretting that golf is his “sport”, rather than pheasant hunting…
I’d be interested to know if McConnell knew what was in it before making that recommendation. If he did, it seems like he is setting Trump up for the right moment to pull the plug on him. Either that or he’s insane. I don’t think he’s insane.

He might just be a bit weary, as the rest of us are. (Has it really only been a little more than 2 1/2 years? Maybe we need to count the election.)

McConnell (Stifling snicker): “It will ABSOLUTELY diffuse them, Mr. President!”
Trump: “And it won’t make me look guilty?”
McConnell (Pantomiming obscene gesture): “It will TOTALLY exonerate you, Mr. President!”
Trump: “And there’s no way this could come back to haunt me?”
McConnell (Practically passing out to avoid uncontrollable laughter): “Nope.”
So Trumps usefullness to Moscow Mitch came to an end.
Maybe you’re right. Someone this morning reported it was with Moscow Mitch, which I thought odd, since I hadn’t heard about them playing together and the injured shoulder, you know.
Mitch is thrilled to see a scandal coming that could bring down Trump without it necessarily leading back to his own big stinky pile of dirty Russian laundry?
