I assume wherever possible many of those phones and sim cards have been destroyed. Any politician or aide could just claim they needed or wanted a new phone and discarded their old one. I’ve bought new phones and when the tech at the store was migrating stuff from the old one to the new one had all sorts of stuff just disappear. Contacts. Notes. Photos. It’s aggravating, but it happens. If I had an incriminating phone I’d be getting rid of it, and concocting a plausible reason whatever was on it is now lost forever. Surely some people in DC that day, and the days before and after, did just that.

I don’t pretend to know much about tech, but i would assume the WH has its own cell tower and, obviously, it has its own Wi-Fi. They should (if they haven’t already) subpoena that data. I won’t be surprised if every last one of those cheap bastards was using the WH’s free Wi-Fi.

Let’s say you were doing and saying lots of things that were incredibly fantastic for your country, and in fact “Making America Great Again.” Let’s say that clear evidence of all of your fantastic work and wonderful achievements was contained in contemporaneous documents and phone records. Why would you tear up those documents and conceal those phone records?
