He makes it all look so effortless.

He must be shooting for his own reality show.

What ever came of his traffic infractions? I was under the impression that going a certain speed over the limit - multiple times and with a suspended license - was a fairly serious matter.

And what’s going to happen to him, absolutely nothing. Now just picture this if it was a black person.

Just going down the list of “how to manufacture a re-election campaign talking point the right wing extremists will love”…

No charges, again?

Seems this would be an open and shut case given the in-your-face recidivism. Maybe you could chalk the first time up to carelessness or even confusion about how to transport ammunition, but I seriously doubt anyone could paste a fig leaf of doubt over carrying a loaded handgun onto an aircraft, given his previous “education” on the rules. I know there are restrictions on impeding a Congressman headed toward the Capitol but that doesn’t stop him from being charged, just arrested.

I suppose there’s a case to be made that he wants the fight, so why give it to him? But that’s a bad strategy when he is obviously escalating the violation instead of tamping back down after a warning. What’s next for him, waving it around to show it off to his seat mate, or target practice on the tarmac? Slap him down. This game needs to be over.

Wonder if madcaw brought a gun to any of his recent court appearances.

Absolutely correct. if he were a poor POC, that’s how it would be written and portrayed.

First one was continued to a date a few weeks later. 2nd and 3rd ones are May 03 and May 06. All in three different counties. Boy gets around.

Is the right to carry a loaded handgun on an aircraft really a winning campaign message? Good lord.

"It’s not known whether the GOP congressman will face any criminal charges. "

Says it all. It should be immediately known and something that can be depended upon like clockwork. It should, in fact, go without fucking saying. Few sentences in the English language could be more appallingly threatening to our democracy than: “We don’t know whether the federal gov’t will be bothering to enforce its criminal laws against this congressperson.”

No “news” outlet should ever have to write such a thing. Ever.

Lock him up. NMNQ.

Like so many Rethuglicans, Cawthorn sees himself as being above the law. The sad part is that so many of them seem to get away with it. Shameless!

Sort of like Cops, but the opposite. Perp’s point of view and they see what he can get away with.

If he was in NYC he’d be sitting in Rikers, bail reform which has been vastly overstated while awaiting indictment.

What kind of procedure does a member of the House go through to enter the chamber? Metal detector, hand search? You know if he’s tried this more than once on an airline he’s going to push his luck in the Capitol.
