The loss of markets to alternative energy and the loss of market share due to higher prices at delivery were what I had in mind.
Their revenue stream will be reduced.

Hmm. The folks advocating that humans are fundamentally different have not gone away. It’s just gotten harder for them to make the arguments sound rational. As I recall the whole “Nim Chimpsky” episode was part of that debate. We want to think we’re uniquely special, there’s just very little evidence to support that contention.

This is an absolute disaster, and not just for us, but for every country that relies on oil, gas, fertilizer, and any other goods coming out through the Persian Gulf.
It’s one thing to say elections have consequences, but other countries didn’t vote for the greedy moron who thought he could steal Iran’s oil monies for himself.

That’s another part of the equation. If we’re made in God’s image we must be special, but if we made god in our image not so much. As I’ve gotten older I’ve always been struck that God seems to be most vocal when we need to justify our worst impulses.

Animals in the wild also don’t put clothes on to go into the office the next day, so I’m not sure what he’s trying to say here..
Not to mention their digestive systems are very different from ours and specialized for different types of foods. Since we started using fire to cook our foods, our digestive systems have evolved differently from chimpanzees and other animals.
