I was going to point out the same thing. Glad to know someone else thought so too.

Sort of seems like Project Veritas on steroids.

Are you implying James O’Keefe has learned from his past mistakes? Well that’s scary.

A story so weird that I immediately assume it is a Republican backed GQP lawless scam. Republicans with the money and their fused GQP cohort with the crazy ideas to do God knows what, violence or just predatory dirty tricks?

If it was a foreign actor, I would assume a much more professionally run operation that made more sense to gaining some type of useful intelligence or access.

“Follow the money” has never been more apt advice

It did an upfront blurb on WRC at 11 last night – first story being today’s rain delaying the Opening Day game of the Nationals. But it being BURIED on page 3 of Metro is inexcusable, considering that one of the marks was on the FLOTUS protection detail. Frankly, I’m wondering what the hell is going on with the Secret Service, that they were unable to pull their heads out of their asses and run a check on these guys 18 months ago.

The book “Zero Fail” about the Secret Service during the Trump years tells you all you need to know about that once esteemed organization.

There will be an investigation. Facts will emerge that merit indictments. The DOJ will take it under advisement. Then, well, sheesh, this all seems political. Plus if we push it too hard Russia will launch nukes.

TFG encouraged the rot, rather than removing it. I blame him.

Well, may be we can write a “novel” based on the facts of the case.

Because in the end, no one pays attention or believes it. And, its all good if there is money to made, right?

Fanboys with enough cash to have no visible means of support and can gift an apartment worth $40K/year?

This is an obvious attempt to kidnap the First Lady by a foreign entity.

Couldn’t be the GQP - this operation had a whiff of competency. Not much, but still.

I wonder if they were grooming SS dudes to spy and steal things from the Biden family, to feed the “Hunter’s laptop” fans some new plot twists.

It’s not an obvious anything, at the moment.
Sketchy and full of potentially scary truths, but I disagree about anything being obvious yet

Hope the Secret Service guys reported and were ordered to play along but doubt it.

Bang on. When I read about this crazy scam my first thoughts were; why is there so much money in a safe in a condo? Is it legal money? How did the ‘pizza delivery guys’ know that there was cash in that safe? What type of safe is it? Does it have a tumbler type lock? How did they get into the safe? Who else is involved?

All in all it can only be a crime against another criminal if some sort.

Josh is now saying the scam may have been in play for two or more years. So it predates Biden’s inauguration? Trending towards nefarious territory here.

TPM Folks: I think you got the headline wrong: “…Tried To Trick Secret Service…”

Nope. They were SUCCESSFUL in tricking them.

Obama is involved. I just know it.
