Donald Trump is not immune from prosecution for his efforts to stay in power after losing the 2020 presidential election, the D.C. Circuit said in a Tuesday ruling.
Not for too long if the SCOTUS lets it stand. I think he gets 30 days to appeal? So he’ll use all of that, but SCOTUS may not touch it. If they don’t, then there could still be a trial and verdict before the GOP convention in July. Which would be sweet.
After four weeks of intensive, sober, scholarly, ponderous pondering, with the nation perched on the edge of its seat, the Court ruled 1) that ex-president Trump could not commit murder, rape, and pillage, and/or theft of Dunkin Donuts while remaining immune from prosecution, and 2), that 2+2 did not equal 5 just because “Fat Donnie” (an obscure legal nomenclature) said it did.
After their exhausting labors, the court declared that it was giving itself the week off.
So, can Jack Smith just move forward, expecting trump to respect this decision or does he have to wait a month for the a-hole to drag it out further? I don’t think Jack lets grass grow under his feet, so he should be able to move on it, no?
