He has the majority of what he needs for an Electoral College victory locked up. Might have some leakage at the margins, but his base will stick with him even if he personally lead a Holocaust, on them. You have to submit to God’s will after all.
So, how he performs on this infection really matters little. Drag his base along, suppress Dem voting, close a bunch of urban polling sites and double down on soliciting Russian help and he’s golden.

Whereupon the interviewees almost universally proclaim they’re sticking with Trump, the pain and ruination they’re experiencing is but a small price to pay to bring all the nasty foreigners to their knees.
I think you might be right. No way no one in the States ran those numbers. Heck even the newspapers had coronavirus models up on their internet sites so people could play around with “flatten the curve”.
I strongly suspect the WHO tests (40,000 offered) were turned down because Drumph’s first thought was “How can I make money off this?” Can’t do that if you have all those free tests floating around.

The study discussed in the article was performed not by a “British firm” but by a team of academics. It has not yet been peer-reviewed. It was funded by the UK Medical Research Council (which is a sort of socialist death panel that employs … “government doctors”!).
The only question is this: who put Trumplethinskin in restraints and read the report to him. I will never believe he read it himself. That is a B-flat basic epidemiology paper (albeit a very good one). No way he read it–someone read it to him, and then explained it to him.
Maybe, but I don’t think he’s capable of drawing that conclusion. As a sociopath, all his mental calculations revolve around how he can gain from this, regardless of the suffering of others. I think that’s the crux of his dilemma right now - it’s all bad news and he’s incapable of fixing it. All his solutions have to do with how he can bullshit his way through it - he has no other ideas, and he cannot yield the stage to others. He’s stuck in the quicksand of his own flaws, and there’s no escape.
Ahhh…there goes Trump’s base (older, high risk Americans)! And even with the less extreme Covid-19 mitigation, the question now is…after calling Covid-19 a “new hoax”, flaunting healthcare experts advice and his minions advocating to go out/go to rallies…would they believe him?
